Nostalgia: Shriya First Entertained People At 4
Shriya recalls her nostalgic moment by saying that she first entertained people when she was just 4. She says that is her unforgettable incident.

"When I was 4 I went to Birla Mandir in Jaipur along with my family members. I was overwhelmed with joy looking at that marble temple and started dancing there. A group conglomerated around me to watch my dance. I still remember that bliss of happiness I felt in that temple. That temple made me entertain people for the first time which might be a herald that implied my future", says Shriya.

That's a really memorable nostalgia, right?!

City Buzz: 'Operation Duryodhana' publicity drama!
Although the film 'Operation Duryodhana' turned down at box office, it has become controversial at last. The film has shown a few scenes relating to Telangana agitation stating that the leaders of Telangana agitation simply made it hype for getting publicity. Reacting to this the TRSV (Telangana Rashtra Samithi Vidyarthi Vibhag) attacked on Aaradhana Theater at Tarnaka, Hyderabad and burnt down the posters. They also tried to burn the reel but the theater management prevented them and took safety measures by locking the theater. The screening of the film was stopped. TRSV General Secretary E Sreenivas said that the movie has given many wrong impressions on Telangana, Andhra and Rayalaseema issue and made fun about Tirupathi Laddu as well. He also said that that Posani, the director of the film should give a public apology for making this film. He also said that agitations will mobilize to stop screening this film from today (Monday).

Will it turn as a blessing in disguise for the film with negative publicity or will Posani get trapped in the soup of bad controversy? That has to be seen.

Rajni gets a bumper tax cut on Shivaji in TeluguWhile Shivaji in Tamil may not bring any tax relief to superstar Rajnikant, his Telugu dubbed version is going in rake in the moolah in form of tax cut. Shivaji in Telugu is going to be the first dubbed film to get the tax cut after Supreme Court struck down the differential entertainment tax levied by the State government.

The Supreme Court in its recent order felt that the differential rate of taxation should not be implemented on the basis of language alone. After scrapping the slab system, the Congress government went in for a new tax structure. This was done to encourage original films in Telugu. But with the SC's order, exhibitors will go in for dubbed films to save on tax. And Shivaji has made the first killing.

And as for her marriage? That doesn't seem to be happening in her life right now! But she is enjoying every moment of it and it's not quite a cheeni kum life for Tabu!

Gossip: Married Heroine's Body Massage Video

This is the gossip that is making rounds in city now. Koti market in Hyderabad has become a place for pirated Cds selling on roads. That's one aspect.

The other aspect is that the vendors are also selling some 'Hot' Cds at premium rates say between Rs 100 to Rs 150 by creating artificial hype. A look alike of a recently married heroine (a Kannadiga) acted in a video in which she is getting massaged by a man.

That's being sold by a vendor in that market as per sources. That video also started circulating in emails as per the sources. People know that the video is not original but only shot on a look alike. But still the crave to watch that among a set of youngsters is encouraging the makers to do more of that sort.

The moral policing and strict measures to curb these videos should be taken immediately. Otherwise, we may not wonder to see there will be some nasty video in the name of every actress with look-alikes.

Science: Women cause of infertility in men!

Mothers too are responsible for certain types of infertility in men. Thus far, onlyfathers have been held responsible for infertility in the male offspring. This is so because it is the father who transmits the Y or male sex-determining chromosome tothe son and the mother does not transmit any male sex chromosome to the male child. But a study, by the Hyderabad-based Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, on Indian men from different linguistic and geographical backgrounds shows that motherstoo play a key role in transferring the infertility genes to sons. Mothers, however,do not themselves get affected by these infertility genes.

The CCMB study revealed that mitochondrial DNA, which is inherited by sons frommothers, is contributing to increasing male infertility around the world, particularly in men from the Indian sub-continent. The mitochondrial or mDNA is found to be undergoing mutations affecting the motility of sperm as well as itscount."Sperm quality is also greatly influenced by mutations in the components of therespiratory chain of the mitochondrial DNA. Although mDNA has been studied extensively for the past two decades, very few studies have investigated theinvolvement of mDNA mutations in male infertility. There are 37 genes in mDNA,encoding 13 proteins, which are essential components of respiratory-chain complexes involved in the production of adenosine triphosphate," says Dr Kumarasamy Thangarajof Evolutionary and Medical Genetics Laboratory of the Centre for Cellular andMolecular Biology. As part of the study, the CCMB team analysed the mitochondrial DNA of 34 men suffering from oligoasthenozoospermia (low sperm count with poor motility) alongwith 150 normozoospermic (fertile) men. The team noticed a novel missense mutationin ND4 gene. A missense is a mutation that converts a codon coding for one amino acid to a codon coding for another amino acid. In the case of oligoasthenozoospermicmen, the mutation in the ND4 gene replaced threonine with isoleucine. But this wasnot observed in normozoospermic or fertile men who served as a control group for purpose of the study.Dr Thangaraj points out that abnormal semen is one of the major factors that isassociated with male infertility. The quality and quantity of sperm production maybe affected greatly by both environmental and genetic factors.

Karyotypic (chromosomal) abnormalities and Y-chromosomal microdeletions are the most frequentgenetic abnormalities associated with abnormal semen profile, particularlyoligozoospemia (less than 20 million sperm per ml but still a measurable level) nonobstructive azoospermia (a condition with complete lack of measurable sperm).Explaining how the mitochondrial DNA from mothers is responsible for infertility insons, he says spermatozoa are heavily dependent on mitochondria for respiratory energy for motility. The mature mammalian spermatozoon contains about 72 to 80mitochondria in the mitochondrial sheath of the midpiece (area below the sperm headwhich serves as a motor of the sperm).Analysis of blood samples from both oligoasthenozoospermic (infertile) and normozoospermic (fertile) control men revealed the presence of several sequence variants but one variant at nucleotide position was found to be present in all 10samples. Interestingly the T allele (C11994T) never before has been reported, either as a polymorphism or in association with a disease, anywhere in the world."We screened for the presence of this mutation in the remaining 24 samples.Amazingly, we also found this mutation in all the remaining 24 samples, although none of the 150 proven-fertile (normozoospermic) men carried it. The C11994Tmutation is located in the second base of a codon, resulting in an amino-acid changefrom threonine to isoleucine at amino-acid position 412 of the ND4 gene. The ND4 gene is an essential subunit of complex I of the mitochondrial respiratory chain, and ND4 mutations have been implicated in mitochondrial diseases such as Leigh'ssyndrome and Leber hereditary optic neuropathy," he observed.

Because none of the fertile men analysed in this study or in other studies aroundthe world has been found to contain this C11994T mutation, the possibility of itbeing a neutral polymorphism was ruled out by the CCMB team.

"There is interesting evidence that mDNA variation is an important contributor tothe motility variation of sperm. Mutations of mDNA have been well documented inseveral disorders, either independently or in association with nuclear mutations," Dr Thangaraj says.

Impression: Kalyan Ram Also Burnt Out Fat?
Kalyan Ram is also looking slim and sturdy now. In actual sense, he is slimmer since the beginning. But now he is looking further slim. Has he done more work outs as NTR did? Or is he competing with him in looking slimmer? How come Nandamuri heroes look slimmer, which is far from their family picture? This is the topic that is in discussion now.

Kalyan Ram is looking slim in the posters of his fresh film he acted along with Vedika. That's the remake of Tamil film 'Siva Kasi'.

Samudra is directing the film and E Ranga Rao is the producer of it.

Recently the unit returned from Europe tour.

Poonam Bazwa Looks Sexier and Slimmer

Poonam Bazwa is now looking slim and sexy. The change is clearly apparent in the film 'Veduka' that was released freshly. She looked plump and hard to digest for eyes in the film 'Boss'.

After that she maintained strict dietary regulations and work outs to become slimmer. And her efforts are answered. Now she is slim and sexy.

But her acting skills are poor and she needs to groom up well in that aspect.

Nisha Says She Has Tight Bond With Ramu
There are two types of gossips those made rounds about Nisha Kothari in recent times. One is, it was said that Ram Gopal Varma ignored Nisha Kothari after starting his association with Jiah Khan. But Nisha ignored it. She said, "I'm doing as Basanthi in RGV's Sholay. I'm in touch with RGV almost all the time. That's enough to say that we have no differences".

But the second gossip was that Nisha and RGV are madly in love with each other and are engaged on phone hours together. When asked about this Nisha skipped with a smile.

Saying about her career she said, "I love doing any role in any language. At present I'm acting with Balakrishna in 'Okka Magadu'. I like to pervade on all screens of India like Sridevi".

Fact Sheet: Daggubati lands in trouble!

Daggubati Venkateshwar Rao, Congress MLA and eldest son-in-law of late former Chief Minister N T Rama Rao, normally a quiet and non-controversial politician, has landed himself in a controversial situation.

In a bid to defend his wife -- Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development Purandareshwari – in writing a strongly-worded letter to Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu for using the name of her father for political gains, Daggubati made a controversial statement, saying NTR himself had sought the help of the Congress in his last days. The statement kicked up a row and the Telugu Desam quickly turned the statement to its advantage and to malign the Daggubati couple.

Adding further fuel to the fire, Daggubati made yet another controversial statement stating that Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy was doing much more to the poor than what NTR did during his regime. Naturally, this has triggered a lot of resentment among the fans of NTR, who registered a strong protest. Daggubati was forced to beat the retreat, saying he had never meant to downplay NTR's role. But the damage has already been done, political analysts say.

Aditya Om's Variety Film With Variety Title

Aditya Om has been the struggling actor who is not being able to turn the heads of anyone. He is freshly coming up with the film 'DTS' where the caption is 'Nishabdam'.

The title itself is sounding new! D Nageshwara Rao is the producer of the film while DNR is the director. But it is said that the investor of this film is Aditya Om, whose name is camouflaged.

The film is made with comedy and suspense elements. It is in boxes and set to release. The producer is looking out for distributors and giving Ads in News Papers.

Will buyers come forward/ Will the film release? That has to be wait and seen.

CBN's Gift For D Ramanaidu for 2009 Elections

It's the incident happened just a few hours after Mahanadu. Dr D Ramanaidu was given Chirala and Paruchuru constituencies to make his people contest from the place.

He assigned the duty to Suresh Babu and asked him to look into the matter. Suresh Babu has a good Man Friday in his production team who is very close to him since childhood.

Suresh Babu gave him 6.5 lakh and asked him to go to Chirala and prepare ground work for one week. He has to spend that amount for plantation of tress; feeding his men and also gifting them with some things (may be like cricket kits). Another producer who is very close to Daggubati family is also going to be sent to Prauchuru to contest.

So the things are moving that way. Chandrababu is making his way by rubbing shoulders with film personalities to support him. Many are showing interest as well as they feel it's a definite success for TDP this time.

Telugu news channel: Countering competition

Through the last week in every Telugu news channel that you saw, every local newspaper you read, all you saw was corporate colleges tom-toming their achievements about the ranks their students got in the IIT entrance test and blah blah blah.

While Ramaiah was busy countering Narayana and Sri Chaitanya over how many IITians they managed to produce, he and you may have missed the smaller, yet significantly prominent ads by schools from districts of AP. They were not broadcasting their SSC toppers, for sure.

They were sending scroll upon advertising scroll on having produced students who topped the entrance test that Ramaiah conducts to give admission in his IIT coaching academy.

These are the schools that train students to get into the Ramaiah IIT study circle that in turn trains them for a seat in IIT. Phew! And so amidst all the glamour of the all India rankers, there was the modest beginnings of these small time schools that probably produced the prospective rankers. Take a bow.

No More Bookings For Cute Lovely Heroine?
Hansika has no bookings after the success of the film 'Desa Mududru'. She was given big hype with the film and also stated that she is going to rock Tollywood. But no producer has booked her after that. Has she become 'Ek Film Ka Sultani'?

It is said that she is not good as per screen performance although good looks-wise. Even the beauty is due to her young tender age but later changes like any other heroine, say a few among film circles.

Whatever be her physical attribute, she has to groom up her acting skills to survive for longer time on Telugu screen.

Why’s Bipasha Basu happy these days?

Bipasha Basu is only pleased to see the rumours of her split with boyfriend John Abraham die down. “People are bored of them. But, it’s tiring to keep explaining that everything is fine between us. The day we are unhappy people will know. When you are a public figure, you can’t hide anything. If anything bad had happened it would have showed,” she says.

Numerology: Shilpa... ‘Figure’ this out!
Gemini Shilpa Shetty has had an eventful year. Numerologist Bhavikk reveals how she can cash in on her popularity

Shilpa was born on June 8, 1975 which makes her a number 8 person in Numerology. Generally, life begins after 30 for most number 8 persons and in Shilpa’s case, this theory fits perfectly. She is a Gemini (Air sign) ruled by number 5 ( Mercury ) and her compound number adds up to number 9. (8 + 6 + 1 + 9 + 7 + 5 = 36 = 3 + 6 = 9) which represents a light mangal in her birth chart. Astrologically, number 9 will be one of her lucky numbers but not always. It can be sometimes good, sometimes bad. Her zodiac element ‘Air’ indicates that she can be more successful in a place away from her place of birth and even more if it’s a foreign land. She won the show in UK. Her lucky numbers are 1, 3, 5, 6 and it’s series such as 10, 21, 32, 42 etc whereas unlucky numbers will mainly be series of 4 and 8.

There’s ample proof how Numerology has played an important role in Shilpa’s life so far:

1) Her first film Baazigar (title adds up to Number 18) released on Nov 12, 1993 (total adds up to number 9) She was 19.
2) Her first lead role in the film Aag (title adds up to number 5) released on Aug 19, 1994 (total adds up to number 5).
3) She had a ‘hit’ in the same year in Main Khiladi Tu Anari (title adds up to number 48) released on Sept 23, 1994 (total adds up to number 1).
4) At the age of 21, she worked with stars like Govinda (Hathkadi and Gambler) and Sunny Deol (Himmat).
5) At 24, she won the Best Supporting Actress for Pardesi Babu and made the whole country dance to her moves in the super hit song ‘Main aai hoon UP-Bihar lootne’ in Shool.
6) Her career got a much needed breather with the romantic musical Dhadkan (22) released on Aug 11, 2000 (total adds up to number 3) but since it was her 26th year, she failed to win any awards despite a good performance nor did she bag any major films after that.
7) She won several nominations for her role in Rishtey (title adds up to number 21). The film released on Dec 6.
8) Then came Phir Milenge (title adds up to number 42). The film released on 27th Aug, 2004 (total adds up to number 5).
9) At 32, she was offered the reality show Big Brother and crowned winner on Jan 28. (2 + 8 = 1). During this period the Sun was in the zodiac of Aquarius which is also an ‘Air’ sign. The title of the show Big Brother adds up to number 6 which is her most powerful number.
10) Her last release Life In a…Metro ( title adds up to number 46) won her good reviews and the film also worked. Shilpa will be entering her 33rd year (3 + 3 = 6). It’s good time for marriage and she should consider it. It seems she will definitely get married before June 2008. She should spell her name as “SHILLPA SHETY” to bring her name to a very fortunate number. She is correctly wearing an emerald in her right hand smallest finger and should never remove it.
