The channel has been bold in several aspects in the matters of News reporting. But why it stepped back in the issue of Film Reviews? It was said that Ravi Prakash was personally invited by a few key people in the industry and requested him to stop the reviews. And hence the reviews proved absent in that channel since then.
Yes, although the channel is bold in several aspects it has exceptions in some cases.

Freshly an alleged MMS is in circulation in the mobiles of many where they are saying that belongs to Mona Chopra. The reports say that she was complete nude and busy in a bed-act and this is not a morphed one this time, say some. As Mona is known for hot things, people firmly believe that the MMS wouldn't be a morphed one.
Well, it's the personal image that matters when the issues like this break down. Although some say that it would be a morphed one, many are ruling out now!

The year 2007 has taught new lessons fore the film makers. It is not the hero that matters but the content that carries more weight. Sekhar Kammula proved that with his 'Happy Days' that ran to successful heights with minimal budget. The super star syndrome and demigod worship is slowly waning and 2007 might be harbinger for that. And it doesn't mean that the big star films didn't do well. It's the script that matters and rest falls behind that now.
Let us see what the top 5 movies of this year are:
Happy Days:
The film proved to be novel in screenplay and fresh in theme. It has complete contemporary feel due to engineering college background. The film boosted up the image of Sekhar Kammula, the director and gave new image for all the young guns in it. The guys Varun Sandesh and Nikhil bagged solo hero offers on other banners with this film. Actress Tamanna bagged a chance to pair up with Allu Arjun. The other guys and girls acted in the film bagged chance to act in Nagrjuna's TV serial 'Yuva'.
Yamadonga:
The film turned the heads of everyone due to the most famous Yama concept that hasn't come on Telugu screen in the last 10-15 Years. Mohan Babu playing 'Yama' also turned a USP for the film. NTR's new slim look added glory for the film and appearance of Late NTR on screen with the help of graphics added craze. NTR sang his first song in the film and with these several elements, the film turned super hit.
Desa Muduru:
The film turned super hit for two reasons. One is complete mass appealing music and the other I new macho look of Allu Arjun and cute look of Hansika Motwani. Although there was no big story to discuss, the film proved to be hit being trendy. Puri Jagannath's magic worked that way in the beginning of this year.
Adavari Matalaku Ardhaley Veruley:
The film turned a hit due to the family oriented theme in it. Selva Raghavan's touching direction and Trisha's decent look in the film pulled family audiences and thus it proved to be a hit.
Dhee:
This film proved to be big magic in Tollywood this year. Vishnu got his first hit with this. Sreenu Vaitla's direction with Sree Hari and Brahmanandam in key roles added vigor for the film. Genelia continued her hit track after 'Bommarillu' with this film. Narration of the film in lighter note and non stop comedy proved to be success factors in the film.
The common aspect in the above films is effective screenplay. And another aspect is comedy which proves to be vital part in any successful film. The collections of all the above films have been strong and maintained continuously for many days. The year bestowed Vishu, the first hit with 'Dhee'. NTR also made success this year breaking the flow of flops from many years. Allu Arjun projected himself different with macho look this year with Desamuduru. Venkatesh did nothing new but could find success with his stereotype role in 'AMAV'. New young faces turned top celebrities this year with the film 'Happy Days'.

Naresh has come to Sri Mayuri theatre in RTC Cross Roads to watch the film 'Mee Sreyobhilashi' along with CC Reddy.
Wearing a trendy T-Shirt and putting goggles on his head he looked very young and active. But people wonder why he looks fat and dull on screen. It's not just the make up that brings such drastic change to an artiste but there is something interesting in his aspect, say some others.
Naresh has been playing middle aged roles from many years but he is fit enough to play youthful roles as well, say many looking him outside. He came in his black Safari SUV and drove out with self driving. As the mobs circled him out of filmy craze, he shook their hands and chatted for some time. The impressions in this snippet are based on the people's discussion at the theater premises as soon as Naresh drove out his vehicle.

Madhu Shalini is now testing the testosterone of men. She is looking gorgeous and looting the hearts of many.
As the age is growing up, this local Telugu actress is gaining the oomph factor. She is appearing in public shows with hot costumes and also posing hot for some photographers. She boosted up glamour a lot and grooming also added to her glory. On a whole, she is now a hot one among film folks but only success is not coming her way. She is acting in a few films but they are proving utter failures at box office.
Sources say that she is taking the help of a big man in Tollywood who gave blessings for many heroines like Anushka and Nayantara. The man is known for his ever-green image that has immense female following in the industry. Well, he is Nagarjuna as known for all.
Let us wish that Madhu Shalini shoots up to fame by any means in 2008.

Film: Mee Sreyobhilashi
Presented By: CC Reddy
Banner: Visu Films P Ltd
Cast: Rajendra Prasad, Naresh, Ravi Kondala Rao, Radha Kumari, Dhanush, Raghu Babu, Krishna Bhagawan, Tanikella Bharani etc
Art: Ashok
Stunts: Ram-Laxman
Editing: Marthand K Venkatesh
Music: Koti
Producer: Y Sonia Reddy
Director: V Eeshwar Reddy
Released On: 28 Dec 2007
Story:
Rajaji (Rajendra Prasad) is a professor who loses his wife and grown up daughter. He regularly goes to a park and finds a few people coming there with various problems in life. Kiran (Dhanush) comes along with his lover and both decide to die. The reason is that their elders object their marriage.
Raghuram (Ravi Kondala Rao) is an old man who is neglected by his son. He comes along with his wife (Radha Kumari) with a decision to commit suicide.
Amala is a lady who gets pestered by dowry craving in-laws and husband. She too wants to commit suicide and comes to that park.
Cheetila Chinna Rao (Krishna Bhagawan) also wishes to die. Surya Prakash Reddy (Naresh) is a film producer who goes bankrupted and hence wishes to die.
Rajaji gathers all these suicide aspirants and hires a bus to die collectively. He plans to make the bus jump into Sri Sailam valley so that everyone in the bus will be killed. He also chooses a bus driver who wishes to die due to his family problems. He says that by dying in a bus all together, the families wouldn’t get bad name as it will be coated as an accident.
The bus starts with all these suicide partners including Rajaji. He too says that he wants to die as he has nobody with him. The conclusion is within in the predictable limits of common audiences. As the bus approaches Sri Sailam, the people in it find attachment with life and change their minds. They want to live happily. Entire film has only bus journey and nothing else. This story sounds variety when listened. But it requires firm screenplay and effective narration to make it a successful movie. That key element is lacking here.
Performances:
Everybody acted within the limits of script and nobody got the scope to exhibit talent personally.
Although there is Krishna Bhagawan in the film, his character never makes the audiences laugh. It’s like one in the group.
Rajendra Prasad continued a decent role after ‘Aa Naluguru’ but there is no range of that film here.
Naresh’s character is just ok and his slang is not into the skin. It’s only Raghu Babu who could make people laugh for some time with his performance. That is the only relief in the film. Brahmanandam comes as a guest and does his part.
Nazar played the role of police officer and he gave his own dubbing for the first time.
Dialogues are weak and the screenplay is also feeble. There are a few illogical scenes in the film as well. On a whole it couldn’t touch the hearts of people.
Analysis:
It’s a film that is assumed to be in the school of ‘Aa Naluguru’. But that range hasn’t come for ‘Sreyobhilashi’. All the characters in the film wish to commit suicide for silly reasons and that can be convinced. But the way they get enlightenment is very artificial. There is no convincing point in the film why the characters change their minds. The depth and spirit is missing there.
The film is made to give a message. The message is ‘problems are inevitable for anybody. But no problem is such a big one that needs death as solution. Problems just test the individuals. So, one shouldn’t commit suicide to run away from problems’. The narration should be convincing, effective and heart touching for this theme. But it lacks in everything. There is no scene in the film that touches the heart. Although there is scope to make this film in a touching way, the director couldn’t take it to required depths.
First half of the film is very slow and by the time interval bangs, audiences expect that there may be something in second half. But that is very well predictable and at the end, the message is not rooted deep in the hearts of audiences. Director might have done more homework in the aspect of bringing more conviction.

Has MS Raju done a mistake by putting the debut of his son in the hands of Teja? In every film of Teja, his hero will be weak. Teja extracts heroism from the weak characterization of hero. Although such films turned hit, all his heroes are now facing problem in career. Uday Kiran, Nitin, Navdeep are now struggling to break the nut. Teja has shown even Mahesh Babu in a weak characterization in the film 'Nijam'. Now will Sumanth Ashwin, the son of MS Raju, have weak characterization as usual? In fact there is no hard and fast rule that the hero should project himself weak with his debut.
Freshly it was said that Teja gave a humble caution for MS Raju to keep away from involving in direction aspect. So, is that an indication that MS Raju took a wrong decision? Everything can be known only after the release of this film.

The director of the year is none other than Shankar who made it national news with the film 'Sivaji'.
He proved that a film which was made with big star and big hype makes immense business at the box office irrespective of the substance in it. He has shown new vistas of Indian Cinema by selling his film 'Sivaji' at whopping prices making entire nation stun and shock. The film made big openings in international scenario as well. The sustenance at box office and the collections also proved impressive. As far as Telugu connection is concerned, Tamil dubbing Sivaji is the movie that made bigger news in AP this year than another direct film.
Although there was lot of repugnance from many sections of film lovers, after the film released, the pre-release hype and the news that it incurred huge budget made the movie a hit of this year.
That's the magic of Shankar who directed not only the Super Star Rajni Kanth but also directed the pre-release hype. But basing on the substance he has shown in the film 'Sivaji', there are many doubts on Shankar now. Big stars from Bollywood are not giving green signal for his fresh project 'Robot'. We have to see how he plans his career and image-management in subsequent days. Shankar is anyway turned the director of this year 2007.

The film 'Don' was released with lot of craze but proved a dud. Many awaited the combination of Nagarjuna and Lawrence as they made a super hit 'Mass' earlier. The film was made with wrong budget and the substance was also proved to be down. The film lost the over all spirit and hence lost at the box office. Adding for all this, the over action of Lawrence in the film marred the tempo, say some.
But on the other hand the thriller flick 'Anasuya' is pulling the crowds in big way. The collections are good at various centers and the variety is invited by audiences.
Another thriller 'Mantra' is also doing well at the box office. The film brought big profits for the producers.
Raasi's 'Maharajasree' lost completely at the box office. The film suffered with 'no openings' and no sustenance at the box office.
'Nava Vasantham' completed 50 days and the drop is collections are seen now.

Swathi of 'Colors' fame thinks too high of her. Though there are fewer takers for her, she lays restrictions to producers. She says she cannot play a sister to hero in any film. She looks for the roles of heroine only.
She ascended from small screen and gained some reputation in film. She was known for her kid-like-talk as a TV anchor once. Now she is always found with hero Manoj, son of Mohan Babu. As she is good at conversation, boys like her company in parties. Manoj praises her all the day. His flatter has made her think too big of her.
Swathi has till now acted in films 'Danger' of Krishna Vamshi and 'Adavari Matalku Ardhaley Veruley' of Sree Raghava alias Selva Raghavan.

Chiranjeevi faced a small embarrassment in the initial days of his career. He went to watch his first movie 'Pranam Khareedu' in a theater in Hyderabad. He came out to have some samosa during interval. Then one of the audiences come to him and said, "Sir! You have done wonderful. Your dialogue rendering is also interesting. I liked your performance…..". Chiranjeevi felt happy and shook his hand first.
The man kept on quoting some scenes those he liked and Chiranjeevi was wondering with a question mark face. Because, all the scenes quoted by that man are of Nutan Prasad. Then Chiranjeevi clarified that those scenes belong to Nutan Prasad. Then the man stopped talking and looked at Chiranjeevi's face in detail and said, "Oh I'm sorry. I thought you are the same person" and left away. That means the man had mistaken Chiranjeevi with Nutan Prasad. Both of them used to look with small similarity that is dense hair and slim personality.
So, Chiranjeevi also faced embarrassment with the mistaken identity of that audience. But now there is no man in AP who doesn't know Chiranjeevi.

A few days back the fans of Balayya were worried for a dialogue in the film 'Okka Magaadu' where he says that he is 'one in lakhs and one for lakhs'. The fans asked YVS Choudary to change that dialogue as 'one in crores and one for crores' and greatandhra.com reported that. But inside sources say that YVS Choudary ignored that request from fans as it is difficult now to change that for two reasons.
One is the dubbing part is completed by Balakrishna and he has to pull him again to dubbing theatre for that single dialogue. The other aspect is that the dialogue in the film appears on screen not just for one time. And above all, the lip sinking and timing also wouldn't match and YVS is concerned about that.
So, for this time, the fans have to compromise with a lakh! Well, what is there in a crore! Even it can be called in terms of lakhs as 100 lakhs. Inside source say that the film come up very well and it would certainly be a treat for all the fans of Balayya.

'Mee Sreyobhilashi' director Eeshwar Reddy introduces about his film and says that he struggled a lot to make this story materialize on celluloid.
He said, "I took this story for many producers and after listening they said that they want to make films like Pokiri. Then I narrated the line to CC Reddy and he said 'wonderful'. I thank him a lot for taking the mantle. This film is not like 'Pokiri'. There will be no Mumaith Khan's dance in this and there will be no masala aspects. But it will be a wholesome movie for all audiences", he said.
The film is releasing today and we have to see how far it is wholesome for all audiences. Get glued to read the review.

While discussions among the public are going on in different ways regarding Chiranjeevi's next film, his political entry and other things, it is said that Chiranjeevi wishes to be silent for a few months without getting into anything. He is completely disturbed by the whole set of things happened in his personal front in the last 4 months. It is said that he is choosing a silent life for sometime at home or abroad.
While the impressions are making rounds about his next film with VV Vinayak, inside sources say that Chiranjeevi is not willing to start any project immediately. So, it takes some time to start up the things from Chiranjeevi's side.
Even with respect to political entry, if he sees more disturbance if sits at home, he will be choosing to leave abroad again. But at this juncture, fans of Chiranjeevi and political circles would maintain their poise as it won't be rational if he is disturbed now while in grief.

Varun Sandesh turned hero on the banner of Dil Raju as acting in the film 'Koththa Bangaru Lokam'. The film is scheduled to start in a couple of months. Tamanna bagged a chance to pair up with Allu Arjun and it is said that she is also getting an offer to pair up with Uday Kiran. The others are also getting enough of chances in prominent way.
The actress who played the role of Sangeetha in the film got a chance to act in the TV serial 'Yuva' of Nagarjuna. Now, Nikhil, who scored more marks than anyone in the film, is becoming a mass hero. Andhrawala producer Giri is going to produce a film in which Nikhil will be playing a mass role.
Parasuram, a debut director is making this film. We have to see how far the 'Happy Days' charisma adds for all these artistes down the line.

Brahamanandam said, "I never acted in the direction of Neelakanta and awaited something from him. He is such a type of person who creates a role as there is an artiste. He picks up artiste only when there is a role. Now I got a role to play and that is Gandhiwadhi. I'm not a routine Gaandhiwaadi. I would become violent if anyone disturbs non-violence- because I'm Gaandhiwaadi".
Inside sources are also saying about Brahmanandam's role and sharing that it has come as a wonderful rib-tickler.

Who is Allari Naresh's girl friend? Industry sources say that it is Farzana. This hot lady with oomph factor has done a film 'Seema Sastry' with Allari Naresh and now again doing 'Bommana Brothers-Chandana Sisters' with him. She opened her heroine account on Tollywood screen with the film 'Bhagyalakshmi Bumper Draw' and won recognition with that.
Her next film 'Seema Sastry' didn't do well and now she is heading towards Tamil screen as well. She is now acting in a Tamil film '1977' beside Sarath Kumar. She didn't make up a firm hold in Telugu but bagged something big in Tamil. We have to see what she achieves on Tamil screen without achieving anything big on Telugu.
Well, sources say that she got an offer of Rs 20 lakhs to pair up with Sarath Kumar. That's a wonderful deal indeed.

1. Vijayadasami:
The film was the remake of Tamil film 'Siva Kasi' directed by V Samudra and released with bigger hopes. But miserably, the film got very big negative talk and turned a mishap. The film was bought by American distributors but not released for the fear of further loss. Later, they understood that the decision was perfect. Probably Samudra and Kalyan Ram might have learned the basics of film economics.
2. Maharadhi:
This is the film that was released with huge expectations being Balakrishna in lead. P Vasu of Chandramukhi fame directed film and hence the expectations were still big. Jayaprada played a glamorous aunty role in the film and everything was used for hype. But the film lost miserably. It received words of bane from all the film lovers. P Vasu might have learned a lesson with this film.
3. Hello Premistara:
This is the film where Puri Jagannath's brother Sai Ram played the lead. Sheela, the pretty girl acted as female lead beside him. The film lacked in proper story line and Sai Ram failed to present him with proper grooming. This is the film that was released with the brand name of Puri Jagannath but the younger brother failed to keep up the glory of his elder brother. The film collapsed miserably and no one knows what lessons Sai Ram learned from this.
4. Poramboku:
This is the movie released just before the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Tollywood. The title was inspired from 'Pokiri' and it named with mass punch as per the trend. Navadeep acted in the flick and it was collapsed at the box office. Navadeep although performed well in the film, the story line and screenplay killed the film completely. Navdeep would have learned that it requires proper story line to be successful as an actor and mere talent is not enough.
5. Raju Bhai:
This is another unforgettable flop from Manoj Kumar, the son of Mohan Babu. In fact, he has seen no hit till now in his career and this film continued his failure saga. No proper story line, no impressive screenplay and nothing. It is in fact the remake of Tamil flick 'Chittiram Pesudadi'. Manoj might have learned that one shouldn't carry away by remakes but should see what suits him and the trend.

Now that mega film star Chiranjeevi has reportedly decided to put on hold his plans to join politics, the large fan following of the Tollywood actor take shelter behind his "smile".
They say, "your smile is our weapon". In fact they have gone a step further, penning a poem invoking the rebirth of the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi. They said Gandhi should come once again to put an end to all the troubles in the country including corruption and looting of public money by big leaders. In the Telugu poem, they have included the name of Chiranjeevi saying that his smile is the weapon to fight against all the evils afflicting society.
Though they did not compare Mahatma Gandhi with Chiranjeevi, they took great pains to indirectly draw a parallel between the both, fighting for justice and against injustice. If Mahatma Gandhi could fight corruption with his lathi, Chiranjeevi could do it with his "Chiru Navvu". The poem has many stanzas and it begins with praising the father of the nation and ends with urging the film star to keep smiling, giving boost to the morale of his large fan following.

Film star Chiranjeevi may not form the much-talked about political party even in 2008. The reason is quite simple. The bereavement in his family. Chiranjeevi has been attached to his father very much and he would not like to take any up anything auspicious in view of his father's death, at least for one year. This leaves no time for the film star to think of a new political party just before the May 2009 elections. There has been a talk of Chiru floating the party around Telugu New Year Ugadi. But since he should not and would not take up auspicious works during the traditional bereavement period, there's no likelihood of the film star going in for the party.
Also there will be no pressure from the Chiru fans or Kapu leaders because the film star was observing mourning period. He received a blow after blow during 2007 and was hopeful of something good during 2008. While Chiru may have a good personal life in the new year, he will not give a thought to float the political party.
This simply means the May 2009 Assembly elections will be fought directly between the Congress and the Telugu Desam, though there may be the TRS and the BJP. The Lok Satta is just a paper tiger and its presence or absence will have no electoral consequences.

Srija now understands what she has lost, say sources. She came to Chiranjeevi's house to watch the dead body of her grand father day before yesterday. But she was not cared by any. Sirish wasn't allowed inside the house and the fans of Chiranjeevi caught his neck and prevented from coming inside.
Only Srija could go inside the house. Knowing that Srija has come to that place, Chiranjeevi avoided to see her and went up stairs. A few ladies who were present in the hall didn't come to talk to Srija. Even Srija's mother avoided to see her. Inside sources said that Srija wept for a while sitting in a corner. She didn't get attention from anyone, and even though a few ladies tried to go to her, other family members shouted on them and kept away. That way Srija has become an untouchable for entire family of Chiranjeevi.
That's the reason, she responded to media in disgust when mikes were kept before her.

Charmy and Suhasini were noticed by a few movie lovers at a famous and expensive lodge in Bhimavaram, The Anand Inn. They were there in separate suites and were there on different jobs. Charmy was there for the inauguration of a shopping complex. She didn't give scope for anyone to talk with her. She ran out of lodge very quickly and got into the car that was closed with dark filmed glasses. Then again when she returned she ran inside the lodge in swift pace. She didn't give scope for anyone, including the hotel boys to come closer to her and talk.
It is common that for the craze, Charmy has, people would mob around her if she is exposed for longer time. So she maintained the quickness for not making people notice her all the while.
At night she boarded the Gowthami Express-First Class AC Compartment and dint get down. It was her attendants those looked after her needs. On the other hand people didn't recognize Suhasini as heroine at all. She was there in Bheemavaram for a shooting.

Kodanda Rami Reddy introduced his son Vaibhav with the film 'Godava' and that didn't do as expected at the box office. But the father-director has a big idea to make Vaibhav close to people.
He planned series of movies with his son and without looking into hits or flops, about 10-12 movies will be made and released. Is that not reminding us of Tarakarathna who started his career in similar way? He was also called Md Ghajjini of Tollywood for trying to conquer the screen for many times despite failures. Now Vaibhav becomes the successor of Tarakarathna by following the same formula. Well, if he strikes success, then he will be regarded. Otherwise he will be completely compared with Taraka Rathna.
Now Kodanada Rami Reddy is going to start his second film with Vaibhav in the month of February as per the sources.

But Hyderabad traffic has no scruples. It puts even the great personalities like Rama Linga Raju in trouble. It took 20 minutes for the driver of Rama Linga Raju's car to park the vehicle. And at the same time, after the completion of the film, the driver took 25 minutes to bring the car out and reach the traffic filled road.
The theater was completely packed up with audience and the black tickets are being sold out at Rs 150 to Rs 200. Youth audience made their way to theaters initially, and now the masses and families are also coming in bigger number as the mouth publicity is good.

Director Teja is now working on the debut of MS Raju's son Sumanth Aswin and that is known for all. The latest grapevine is that Teja has given a firm warning for MS Raju not to involve in direction department.
He said that he would leave the film if he keeps on interfering with his work. As the movie is a debut of his son, MS Raju is keeping quiet and maintaining his poise avoiding disturbances.
MS Raju is known for involving in direction department and people say that he hardly gives creative freedom for the director. Be it Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana or Pournami, MS Raju didn't give freedom for Prabhu Deva. Well, one was a smash hit and the other has bitten the mud. MS Raju is good at creativity but that doesn't go in tune with trend of box office pulse all the time.
Teja is a man with big ego and expects complete freedom while shooting a movie. So, the fight between MS Raju and Teja was expected long time back and now that turned a reality if gossip is to be believed.

We have to see when the things would work out to see these two choreographers becoming directors. But Chandrabose says that he continues to be a lyricist forever and will not sing although getting pressures from the industry. We have to see if he prevents his wife from becoming director asking her to be a choreographer for ever. Or he gives respect for her likes has to be seen.

The film 'Maharajasri' has left many bitter memories not only to the makers but artistes too. Rasi's husband, Nivas directed and partly financed the film. His co-producer D.S.Rao went into financial distress, when the film turned a mishap. He couldn't make payment to many artistes including heroine Nikita. Expecting fat remuneration, she 'exposed' her figure beyond decency in the film. As she couldn't get a pie, she lodged a complaint with the Producers Council. D.S.Rao found no other way except to clear her debts. Rao is now blaming Rasi and her hubby for his distress.
Grapevine said that a tiff is going on between DS Rao and Raasi. The openings of the film are also very bad and the sustenance is weak. Now both Raasi and DS Rao are passing bucks on each other. Raasi alleged DS Rao that he raised the production cost unnecessarily.
DS Rao alleged Raasi that she kept on interfering in the creative part of the movie and also involved in story department killing the dish on a whole. Raasi also invested considerable amount in the film and she got nothing back. She is at a big loss now and decided not to present or produce any movie again. She is only worried for the career of her husband.
We have to see which way she chooses now to push the career of her hubby.

Allari Naresh is now handling his own affairs as hero. His father and Director, EVV has almost given him freedom. Now he is putting time to finalize his own stories. A little birdie says that he listens to not less than 9 stories in a month. He is the final judge in the selection of his heroine too. Earlier EVV would do two jobs on his behalf. Now Naresh is very busy and in the path of success. Many films are in store for him. Hence he is dealing his things on his own.
EVV is happy for that as his father. Naresh is now trying to groove in his GF Farzana in as many films as possible.

Do you know this? Chiranjeevi was the fan of Sreedevi when her first film as heroine 'Padaharella Vayasu' was released. He made struggling attempt to watch the first day evening show of 'Padaharella Vayasu' along with his friend. He found the theatre was houseful and worried a lot as the show was starting in another few minutes. He tried a lot by requesting different people at the theater and finally found successful by requesting the person who brought boxes for the theater. He requested that he came all the way from other town to watch the film being a fan of Raghavendra Rao and Sreedevi. He also gave his reference by saying that he acted in 'Pranam Khareedu'. His first film 'Pranam Khareedu' was released just a few days before in an adjacent theatre.
Then the person got impressed with that and took it a privilege to help a film actor. He arranged two extra chairs in the theater (taking double the amount of ticket price) and thus Chiranjeevi watched 'Padaharella Vayasu' happily. Well, he doesn't know that he would act with Sreedevi in 'Jagadeka Veeru Athiloka Sundari' and 'SP Parasuram' in his future.

Hyderabad (IANS) Mickey Meyer's musical score for "Happy Days" still rules the Telugu music market. The title song is on top of the charts like the movie. Songs from "Mantra" and "Vaana" enter the list of popular songs.
The top five Telugu songs are:
1. "Happy Days" - Film: "Happy Days" - The title song has a nice symphonic feel. Mickey Meyer has scored a grand composition. Given Mickey's solid foundation in Western classical music, it is natural that this tune has this quality and is well blended with classical Indian notes. The tune is almost a signature one, and reappears in the movie several times.
2. "Maha maha" - Film: "Mantra" - A typical Western techno number with an interesting beat, the song is sung by Madhumita and Noelsen.
3. "Yeduta Nilichindi Choodu" - Film: "Vaana". Karthik sings this soft, rather melodious number composed by Kamlakar. The lilting music lingers on even after the song ends, particularly the first line. M.S. Raju, who produces and directs the movie, generally enjoys if there is good music in his films.
4. "Nee Kallathoti" - Film: "Thulasi" - It returns to the chartbuster list. Sagar and Chitra croon the rather melodious number. Set to tune by Devisri Prasad's song, it has a slow tempo and a slightly classical feel.
5. "Ammi-Ammi - Film: "Takkari" - Music director Chakri and Sai Shivani sing this foot tapping number. Hero Nitin does some good steps while dancing to this tune.

Hyderabad (IANS) "Happy Days" continues to be the numero uno film even after completing 80 days - an incredible feat. This fortnight there are three new entrants in the list - "Mantra", "Anasuya" and "Don".
The top five Telugu films are:
1. "Happy Days" - The film is cruising merrily at the box office. It has garnered critical acclaim and commercial success. The film has done exceedingly well in Andhra Pradesh as well as the US. It's Sekhar Kammula all the way when it comes to successful offbeat films. His different sensibilities as a director enable him to make simple, heart-warming stories with strong characterisation. Both, young and old, have appreciated this tale of eight students set in an engineering college tracing their lives in the four years.
3. "Mantra" - This whodunit, starring Charmee and Sivaji, is faring well as far as the revenues go. Suspense thrillers and murder mysteries are not common in Telugu film industry. However, Mantra and Anasuya have shown that this genre goes down well with the audience if made well.
3. "Anasuya" - Bhumika Chawla steals the show as Anasuya in the movie. Playing a TV journo, the actress displays good acting skills. Ravi Babu is good as the villain. This 'edge-of-the-seat' thriller directed by Ravi Babu has got critical acclaim (it's technically slick albeit a bit dark in terms of lighting) and seems to be faring well even though it just released three days ago.
4. "Don" - Nagarjuna's only release this year has been at the receiving end in terms of reviews. Reports on the film's performance are not too favourable. Raghava Lawrence wears many hats - director, actor, choreographer and music director - in the film. Perhaps this was a bit too much on the plate to do full justice. Generally, most star-studded films run for the first few weeks and perhaps the initial curiosity to see it will attract crowds.
5. "Thulasi" - It continues to be in the reckoning. Family audiences seem to prefer "Thulasi". Child star Atulith gives an endearing performance despite the large dose of violence. Venkatesh returns to action in this film filled with commercial elements.

In 1814, Joseph Nicéphore Niépce created the first photographic image with a camera obscura, however, the image required eight hours of light exposure and later faded. Louis-Jacques-Mandé Daguerre is considered the inventor of the first practical process of photography in 1837. That's what the history of still photography says.
The above photograph was taken somewhere in 1840 and it is archived in the oldest photographs documents now. So, this can be called the photograph that was taken in first phase in India. The ladies in this photograph were temple dancers (devadasis) as mentioned in a brief description along with this photograph.

It is fact that she made an abortive attempt to commit suicide of late. The reason was simple. She doubted her hubby was having affairs with gals, more so with Mummaith Khan. This led to cold war between the couple. The hero too shot her back with similar charges.
People in the industry say that she had wayward approach in affairs, before she got married. Not to make things worse, the hero thought it would better for two, if they move together.

Here's a professional fight among the films of Charmy, Ravi Babu and Allari Naresh. The reason is that all three happened to be thrillers.
Charmy starrer 'Mantra' got response from the audience and it is bagging impressive collections. On the other hand the new release 'Anasuya' directed and acted by Ravi Babu got mixed response and the talk is on the right side.
Now the third thriller is also hitting theaters this week and that is 'Visakha Express. Allari Naresh and Rajiv kanakala played key roles in the film and it is directed by Mullapudi Vara. The film is getting bigger attention as the screenplay was given by Chandrasekhar Yeleti and presented by Rajamouli.
We have to see which thriller wins among these three. It's really a coincidence to see three thriller releases in three consecutive weeks.

Akkineni Nageshwara Rao is known for throwing some compliments on heroines who ever stand in front of him in his own romantic way. A few days back, during the audio release of 'Don' he talked romantically saying that he wants to act with Anushka if she gives green signal. He also gave an idea to make a film 'Musali Mogudu Paduchu Pellam' with him and Anushka as pair.
Today he has thrown comments on Bhoomika saying that he is ready to pair up with her if she says 'ok'. ANR and Bhoomika attended the inauguration of Tirumala Music Center in Vijayawada. Bhoomika turned happy for that and gave a thankful smile.
We have to see who else will receive such romantic blessings from this octogenarian legendary star of Tollywood.

Why is Lawrence trying hand in every branch of film making? He throws a challenge to one or other every time. At one time, Director EVV made fun of him, when Lawrence tried to come out with a suggestion in direction. Lawrence took it a challenge and wanted to become a director.
On another occasion Lawrence tried to meddle with tuning a song, when Music Director Keeravani busy trying a tune. Keeravani took strong objection and ridiculed Lawrence for his ignorance. Lawrence wanted to become Music director too. He could become the two.
His latest film 'Don' showcased his multifaceted talents. One, however, should not ask about the outcome of the film!

It is said that Vijayashanthi is planning to do a film shortly on 'Telangana Thalli' as a part of campaigning for coming elections. She is busy with preparing script for that film and she wishes to use the movie as a tool to campaign. Hence she is titling the film with the name of her party 'Thalli Telengana' itself, say sources. Vijayashanthi is still relying on movies to allure people and get votes.
But how far the Telangana based films those were released by Vijayashanthi worked in those areas? Although Vijayashanthi released a couple of films after the hit flick 'Osai Ramulamma' of Dasari, they didn't make any impact at box office.
We have to see how far this lady boss attracts the attention of public with her new film.

Mumbai (IANS) Three Marathi actors recently denied entry into a restaurant in a suburban Mumbai 7-star hotel isn't an isolated case. Celina Jaitley had a nightmarish experience at the same establishment.
Recalling the incident, Celina told IANS: "I went into the sports lounge of this hotel with a gay foreigner friend of mine for just 10 minutes. I saw a tall imposing middle-aged German guy making obscene gestures at me. At first I ignored him out of embarrassment. Then he got bolder and came up to me to tell me in German in picturesque detail what he'd like to do to me.
"He didn't know I speak German fluently. That was it. I asked the hotel's authorities to deal with the situation, since they hadn't allowed my bodyguard in. Forget about challenging the German lecher, they said they didn't know who he was! Luckily I had seen him sign his room number on his bill."
When the posh hotel's cowardly personnel did nothing to help Celina, she left but returned the next day with three vans of cops, got the man out of his room and confronted him.
"He fell to his knees and cried and begged saying he has a wife and children back home. He should've thought of them when he treated me to such vulgar intentions. I made him write an apology and then for his family's sake decided not to press charges," Celina told IANS.
"The worst thing was, nobody in the hotel wanted to co-operate with me in dealing with this situation. Even some of my well-wishers advised me to forget about it.
"What I want to know is, whom do these hotels cater to? Are they for us Indians? Or are all the amenities and facilities only for foreigners? Why are foreigners given such blatantly preferential treatment in these posh hotels?"
The actress decided to speak up on the matter after she heard about the humiliation of the Marathi actors who weren't allowed in because of their Kolhapuri slippers.
"This isn't the first time that such an incident has happened. Some time ago, a dress designer friend of mine requested the same hotel's security to inspect his car in the portico, as he didn't want the clothes in the car to get wet in the rain. There was an argument. They slammed the car bonnet on his hand and fractured it...
"Don't they care about people who are not foreigners? Are these high-flying places so busy making big bucks that they've forgotten basic sense of decency?"

1. Mantra:
The film turned the heads of all trade analysts with surprise. The openings are pretty good and the sustenance in collections for successive days is also found interesting. The thriller aspect in the film attracted the youth audience and their patronage has been good. The film stands in position-1 in the box office list of the week.
2. Don:
The film kept down majority of audience by not meeting the expectations. As the story line is not strong and as Lawrence tried to dominate in the film with his role, the film didn't turn a favorite for many of the mass audience. Although the openings the good, the eventual days are seeing little drop in the film. It sits in position-2 of the toppers' list of the week.
3. Anasuya:
This psycho thriller also made good openings and bagged mixed talk. The film is alluring the audience those like crime thrillers. The vital element in the film is that it has no suspense. The climax ifs predictable but still it is alluring the audiences for an anxious watch. It sits in position-3 of the toppers' list of the week.
4. Happy Days:
The success saga of the film is continuing and it is making impressive collections. Although the tempo of houseful collections has come down, it is still sustaining with considerable cash in flow. It sits in positiono-4 of the toppers' list of the week.
5. Godava:
The film is breathing heavily but still upholding its position in theaters. Shradhdha Arya turned crowd pulling element among a set of audiences and the publicity part is also helping the film to make a few more collections for this debut hero's flick. The film sits in position-5 of the toppers' list of the week.

Comedy hero, Rajendra Prasad, is not willing to act in those films, where Brahmanandam is on the cast. He developed strife with him and hence not willing to act with him. The reason is nothing but ego. He was hero for quite long time and Brahmanandam was only a comedian who earned more than him. Both of them had a tiff long back and Rajendra Prasad is not moving close with him since then.
Rajendra Prasad has a problem with Allari Naresh too. When these two appeared together in 'Ma Alludu Very Guddu', many producers thought that was the most successful combination. Some approached them with good scripts also. As their relation is bad, those producers had to withdraw. Ego and eccentricity go with Rajendra Prasad.
In fact there are a few heroines who keep Rajendra Prasad at bay. Malavika turned popular among those. It was complained long back that he molested her during the shooting of 'Appa Rao Driving School'.

The heroine of the year is Shriya. She made big news by becoming a choice of the most expensive film of India made in this year.
That is 'Sivaji' or Rajni Kanth and after analyzing many ifs and buts Shankar, the director of the film has chosen Shriya to be his heroine beside Rajni. That boosted up the image of Shriya to rocket heights and she bagged series of offers from top banners in Tamil. She acted beside Vijay in 'Azhagiya Tamil Magan' and also paired with Vikram for 'Kandasamy' (to be released in Telugu as 'Mallanna'). Apart from this she made a big news by dancing with Vadi Velu, the Tamil comedian for a film 'Indralogathil Naa Azhagappan'. Tamil tabloids wrote about her saying that she agreed to do with him by taking a pay check of Rs 50 lakhs. But Shriya condemned it saying that Vadivelu is a worthy artiste and it is privilege working with him. That way, Shriya made everything a big news this year.
She also turned a hot cake on Telugu screen as well. She played a cameo in the Venkatesh starrer 'Tulasi' and also appeared in an item song in 'Munna'.
She also bagged a role in Bollywood flick 'Awarapan' but that didn't do well at the box office. The other film that is yet to be released is 'Ek-The Power of One' with Bobby Deol. Apart from all this, Shriya bagged a wonderful Hollywood offer as well. She is acting in the film 'The Other End of the Line' that is going to be made by James Dodson and she will be pairing up with Jessie Metcalfe. 'Mission Istanbul' is another big budget film in which Shriya is acting by pairing up with Vivek Oberoi.
On a whole the year 2007 is a memorable year for Shriya for many unique things happened in her career.

Comedian AVS developed contempt against his counterpart Brahmanandam, ever since the latter's name found its entry in Gunnies Book of World Records.
'Had I made a count of the roles I played, I too would have find place in the Gunnies Book' AVS boasted in the company of his friends, of late. He claims that he is not only an actor; he is a director and a writer too. He says he will certainly find his entry in Limca Book of Records.
Well, AVS knows well how to find his name in such books. He won many awards out of recommendations!!

The film 'Sivaji' unleashed a famous wonder this year. Rajni Kanth, the dark looking south Indian star was shown bright like a European in that film. There were several gossips on that aspect. Some said Rajni had undergone chemical peeling treatment to look fairer for that song. Some others said that was the magic of make up artistes. But the fact is that it was only a graphics job done in Chennai. The details are not furnished by many. Here is the complete information.
If you have watched Sivaji, you would have observed the fair complexion of Rajinikanth in the song 'Ok Bandi Sunlight'.
For the first time grafting technology has been used for an Indian film which was made possible by a Chennai based company Indian Arts who had worked in Shankar's earlier films. One of the dancers, Jacky, was chosen by Shankar and Rajini's skin tone was matched with hers. The six and a half minute song was shot in Spain.
Each shot of Rajni's in the song was once again shot with Jacky and was sent to Indian Arts. Since the lighting varies in indoor and outdoor, to match the skin tone, expressions, and lip and body movements of the two was a challenging task. A total of 6700 frames were been for post production. Rajinikanth himself was amazed after watching the song.
Is that not a wonder on Indian screen that was done for the first time?

Item number specialist Mumaith Khan who recently turned heroine with her film 'Maisamma IPS' may not have been able to create an impact at the box office but offers keep coming to her. The latest that we hear is she has been approached by the makers to do a remake of the biggest Hollywood hit 'Basic Instinct' which starred Sharon Stone.
While no confirmations or formal announcements have been made to this effect, it will be interesting to see how the movie is narrated and whether the same steam will be shown like in the original.
The film 'Basic Instict' is famous for the hot cross legged pose of Sharon Stone. Will Mumaith too does something similar! Well, Mumaith is now acting in the film 'Managatayaru Tiffin Center', a full length comedy flick.

Mallika Sherawat, the 26 year old hot lady is worried now. She has shown enough on screen till now but not finding herself on the top of the slot in Bollywood. She turned popular national wide with the film 'Murder' in which she acted as a woman between her husband and boy friend.
She also acted in the most prestigious international flick 'The Myth' and paired up with Jackie Chan in that. She expected quite a lot from that film, but got nothing big. Later in December 2006 she dressed herself with skin toned tight attire and danced on the New Year eve. That turned big controversy all over and she might have expected some big cake from that issue as well. But that didn't help her career in any way. She acted in an item number in the film 'Guru' and even that didn't talk much about.
Now she is heading down south to check her luck. She acted in an item song in a Kannada film 'Preethi Ekke Bhoomi Melede' that is going to release shortly. Earlier she used to say 'no 'for South Indian films. But she did in that Kannada item number as the pay pack was big. She acted beside Kamal Hasan in 'Dasavataram' as the banner and budget is big. So the Telugu film makers also should consider if she will be useful for Tollywood.

Now the new allegation is about the music for the film 'Vaana'. Nookarapu Surya Prakasha Rao bought the remake rights of Kannada hit 'Mumngaru Mele', and MS Raju is making the film in Telugu by keeping Suryaprakasha Rao as his partner. The film is a debut for MS Raju as director. Recently the music of 'Vaana' was released and a few tunes were directly picked up from Kannada music director Mano Murthy who gave tunes for Mungaru Mele. There is no acknowledgement for Mano Murthy on the cassette as well.
Kamalakar gave music for the film 'Vaana'. Now the proposal from Mano Murthy's side is to add his name in title cards of the film under 'Music Director'. Will MS Raju takes it serious or will he ignore it has to be seen.

It is not clear what has made Babu Mohan to keep away from party activities in the State capital. But sources point out that Babu Mohan has been fed up with the policies and programmes of the Telugu Desam supremo and he wanted to have a break for quite some time. With the next Assembly elections scheduled for May 2009, Babu Mohan may again take up an active role in the Telugu Desam. But when does he start taking active interest is the million dollar questions.
Several Telugu Desam leaders who went into hibernation soon after the defeat of the Telugu Desam have now started resurfacing. It is to be seen whether Telugu Desam supremo N Chandrababu Naidu will accept these leaders and give party tickets in the next Assembly elections.

There are no film hits, no great awards and rewards and no big encomiums this year. He has only mental trauma for the venom spilled on him by Mohan Babu indirectly in Platinum Jubilee function. He was pushed into depression by the daughter that married against to his wish and also made big uproar in national media harming his image. His younger brother Pawan Kalyan created a scene at Jubilee Hills Police station with a pistol, adding pain to his grief.
He also got pressures and compulsions from different politicians to come into their party. His own fans brought disgust for him asking him to start new party.
His film 'Sankaradad Zindabad' flopped miserably. With all this, he forced himself into oblivion and staying far away from media camera. The only notable thing happened in this year for him is the debut of his son Ram Charan with 'Chirutha'.
Although there is no good news for him, he has been the biggest news maker with many bad things.
Looking at the flip side, he bagged such a big reputation that Monika Satijn-Boricic, a Dutch filmmaker is working on a documentary on Chiranjeevi now after getting inspired from his influential aura and demigod status in AP.
Chiranjeevi has become 'the most wanted savior' for Communists and they are the first to approach Chiranjeevi and offer a welcome for him into their party. And Kapus on other hand compelling Chiranjeevi to make their community and alternate force gluing caste color.
On a whole while the year 2006 bestowed him with Padmabhsuhan, doctorate and laurels from Abdul Kalam, the President, for CCT activities, the year 2007 turned a bane with more pressures, tensions and dooms for the star.
Now the buzz is still on his political entry. News Papers, Magazines, Tabloids, Websites, TV channels, Astrologers and Numerologists are cashing the buzz by indoctrinating people with comprehensive analyses in all possible ways. The real hero of 2007 is hence Mega Star Padmabhushan Dr Chiranjeevi!!

Charmy says that she dreams and dreams and dreams. She speaks very good Telugu and shared her views on life and career this way.
"Nenu eppudoo kalalu kantoo untaanu", she started. Probably she might have inspired by Abdul Kalam's words 'Dream and Dream'. "I dream to touch the sky so that at least I reach the tree top. I always want to be jovial and happy in life. I take things very casual and enjoy the life. I always dream a lot. I wish to be on the top, earn big and achieve bigger success. And I don't get tensed to achieve all those dreams. I dream and take up whichever comes my way", said Charmy with charming face last evening.

"The serial has no sense and the episodes go on with no spirit. The comedy in the serial is also very weak and it is better to stop the serial or should come up with proper line taking some break", says Lavanya, a plus-2 student.
"We don't understand why Nag produces this serial. It is suffering from poor viewer-ship. Nag should rethink and should change the 'behind the screen team' if possible", says Madhusudan, an MBA student.
"I thought that the serial would open new vista for amusement. But it didn't. Rather it is bringing in boredom", said Kaveri, an engineering student.
While everyone is saying this way, Ravi, another engineering student leaves a ray of hope saying, "There must be something interesting ahead. Otherwise Nag wouldn't encourage this serial. I' m awaiting something interesting after a couple of episodes".
What can we say? Nag should give a look here.

Hyderabad: Ever since she shot into limelight, Sania Mirza has faced one peculiar problem. A section of her own community treated her as the villain of her religion. From issuing fatwas on her sporting gear to the recent allegation that she has hurt the sentiments of the community by trespassing into the historic Mecca Masjid in the old city, they have been troubling Sania Mirza no end.
Now her detractors seem to be spreading their net wider, training their focus even on those who are associated with the player. The doctors who have been treating Sania Mirza for her injuries from time to time over the last few years have been the targets of hate mail.
Dr K J Reddy of the Apollo Hospital here, who was responsible for the player’s rehabilitation on several occasions in the past and had helped her recover from career-threatening injuries, has been warned by a few individuals and groups from India and Pakistan.
The senior orthopedic surgeon has received four letters all of which warned him of dire consequences if he continued to treat Sania Mirza as she was bringing bad name to their religion.
While two letters were received from Pakistan, one was from Bangalore and the other from Kannouj in Uttar Pradesh.
The message is simple in all these four letters: “Dont treat Sania. She is getting injured because God does not want her to play as she was bringing bad name to the religion. Please don’t treat her or else you will face serious consequences. We will not hesitate to harm you.”
In an envelope that the doctor received immediately after he treated Sania Mirza last March, a letter was even addressed to Sania.
“I have informed Sania’s father about this but kept it from the girl because I thought these things will affect her game as also the treatment,” said Dr Reddy.
What was his first reaction? “I felt disturbed for a few days. I will not say I was frightened but we cannot ignore these things. One thing that disturbed me most was that they are targeting the doctor. I don’t understand why they are upset with Sania. She is the pride of the nation and everybody should be proud of her achievements,” Reddy said.
The letter from Uttar Pradesh was addressed to Dr Reddy and the CEO of Apollo Hospital Dr Hariprasad. Signed by one Noor, the letter is written in Hindi with a footnote in English which warned the doctor to get the letter translated into English in case he didn’t know Hindi, for it was important for him as well as Sania Mirza to know its contents.
It ends with a stern warning: “Please pay attention to the letters otherwise it should be very harmful for you.”
