Spy Report: Y S Jagan armtwists new TV channels!

It has been a long wait for the two new television channels – TV5 and NTV – to see the light of the day and the staff working in these channels are getting frustrated over the inordinate delay in their launch.
Inquiries revealed that the reason for this delay is Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, son of Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy. It is learnt Jagan, who is virtually ruling the Congress politics by proxy, is using all his tactics to armtwist the promoters of these two channels – for the simple reason that he does not want any competition to his proposed TV channel, expected to be launched along with his Telugu daily "Saakshi." He did not even allow the actual brain behind the channel to jump into TV5 and offered her an increased pay packet.
Simultaneously, Jagan used his father's influence and prepared dossiers about the illegal activities of the promoters of the above two channels. He managed to stall licence to TV5 and then, negotiate with the promoter of NTV to defer his plans to launch a news channel. It is learnt Jagan is prevailing upon the promoters of these two channels to confine themselves to mere entertainment channels or religious ones.

Fact Sheet: CM loyalist gets Advisor post!

Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy has a unique nature: he goes to any extent to help his loyalists and keeps them in high positions, come what may.

The latest person in his list of loyalists is Prof P Gangadhar Sastry. Till recently, Sastry was holding a crucial post in the Union Ministry of Environment as the Chief of Enviromental Clearance Committee. Right from the beginning, Sastry was a fan of YSR and has been in regular contact with him. So, when all the other wings in the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests and other departments were putting spokes in giving clearances to the irrigation projects, the Enviromental Clearance Committee granted crucial clearances, thanks to Sastry's initiative. Particularly, Sastry was responsible for giving the clearance for Polavaram and Pothireddypadu projects, the dream projects of the Chief Minister.

Naturally, the Chief Minister was very much pleased with Sastry. After his retirement from his job, YSR brought him to the State, arranged a grand felicitation for him in Jubilee Hall and recommended his name for Padmasri award. And now, Sastry is replacing P Seethapathi Rao as the Chief Advisor for irrigation projects in the State with all powers. Imagine Sastry's luck – he has give green signals to the contractors to take up the projects works, involving crores of rupees. That's YSR!!

Analysis: YSR checkmates PJR through silence

Silence, it is said, is golden. There's also a saying that silence speaks more than words. Yes. Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy has adopted this weapon to checkmate his bitter political opponent and former CLP leader P Janardhan Reddy.

Soon after the street brawl involving the kin of Rajasekhar Reddy and Janardhan Reddy, many leaders, cutting across partylines, came out with their own statements. Some attempted to give it a political colour while some preferred to dub it as a regional fight, since PJR is from Telangana and YSR is from Rayalaseema.

Even APCC chief K Keshava Rao stepped in offering mediation. Janardhan Reddy too spoke at length criticising YSR and demanding that YSR's kin be arrested under attempt to murder charge.

But one man stood out. He silently watched the entire proceedings and did not interfere in this street episode. He is none other than Rajasekhar Reddy. Though his own brother was allegedly beaten up by PJR's people, Rajasekhar Reddy did not speak a single word in the open. He, however, continued with his political manoeuvres behind the scene and ensured that PJR's son and son-in-law were behind the bars.

Rajasekhar Reddy, who is often regarded as outspoken politician, chose to checkmate his opponent PJR through the weapon of silence.

And in the process, YSR won the laurels of not only his partymen but also from people.
