Raja is going to act as hero in this film. Giribabu is the producer for this film as well. Raja will be doing in this film after doing Mr Medhavi in the direction of Neelakanta.

Gossip: Chiranjeevi Was Shot By Puri In Bangkok

Chiranjeevi is going to appear in the film 'Chirutha'. If this is true, it's certainly the delight for all Chiru fans. The gossip says that Chiranjeevi was shot by Puri Jagannath when he went to Thailand secretly. It is said that Chiru is going to appear for a moment in a dance sequence with Ram Charan Teja.

Pavan Kalyan has declared that he wants to do a few Kannada films now. He said this at a grand gala function of a Kannada film in Bengaluru. "My elder brother Chiranjeevi gave a special appearance in Ravichandran's Sipaayi, and my second brother Nagababu acted in some Kannada films too. So it's natural for me to have this desire to act in Kannada films too!" says the star who is busy with a new project being produced by ARVIND. This is the funniest gossip that is making rounds in the industry. It seems that Dil Raju is happy for bad-talk of 'Aata'. But why?

It is opined that if the collections go down for 'Aata', the condition of 'Munna' would go better (!). How come?

There is no logic in this. On the other hand Dil Raju took the distribution rights of Aata. Then why he flutters his hands for the downfall of it?

It can be considered that if Aata bags bad talk that would benefit the collections of AMAV but not Munna!

City Buzz: New pub to come up in city
Pub-hoppers can rejoice!

Soul, a new pub is coming up near the Gandhi statue in Somajiguda. In all probability, it will be thrown open on May 18.

The launch party is being planned in a grand way and several Tollywood stars are expected to grace it.

Those expected on the occasion include actors Ravi Teja, Allari Naresh, Allu Arjun and Tarun. Video Jockey and DJ Nikhil will spin the discs.

Meanwhile, DJ Sekhar, who is currently free-lancing, is said to be wowing the party animals at private dos in the city with his hip hop and house music.

Anshu, Komal, Anirudh, Mayuri, Upen, Chetan, Suruchi and Sayam are upbeat at having been selected at the ‘Face of the Week’ events at 10 D. Next week, on 10 D’s Ladies Nite, they will be participating in a fashion show.

Says Anshu, ‘‘Pubs are definitely one of the best places to meet the right kind of people from the film and fashion industries. Though I don’t party a lot at pubs, I was lucky enough to get selected.’’

Screen Talk: Rajanikanth's Sivaji releasing on May 31

The long wait is over. Putting an end to all speculations, superstar Rajinikanth’s much-hyped film Sivaji is slated for a global release on May 31. This was an official announcement made by the producers of AVM Studios. Not only is this good news for Rajini fans, but also for those producers who have completed their films but did not get theatres because of the uncertainty of Sivaji’s release date.

The songs composed by A.R. Rahman are already creating waves in Kollywood. All the numbers are adding up to a spectacular release and this is Rajini’s 100th Tamil film. Shankar’s lucky number is 8 and incidentally Sivaji is Shankar’s eighth directorial venture. Similarly Rajinikanth’s favourite number is 9 and Sivaji is his 9th film for AVM. The film is releasing with a record-breaking number of prints on Thursday which is an auspicious day for Raghavendra Swamy, and Rajinikanth is an ardent devotee of Raghavendra Swamy.


Reel Buzz: Trisha’s Telugu hits remade in Tamil

With Trisha enjoying a good run in Tamil and Telugu, most of her Telugu films are either being remade or dubbed into Tamil. The latest one to be remade is her blockbuster film Athadu with Mahesh Babu which is being remade in Tamil as Nandhu. A huge star cast which includes Prakash Raj, Nasser Kotta Srinivasa Rao and Brahmanadham play key roles and are equally popular in Tamil. The original was directed by Trivikram, but now director/cinematographer Solai Raja has bought the remake rights and is re-shooting certain scenes to suit the Tamil audience. While KV Guhan is the cinematographer, Mani Sharma is the music composer.

Screen Buzz: Will Ramu ban mobiles on set?

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma was pretty shocked when the song, Mehbooba, from his film Sholay was leaked and circulated on the internet. Urmila Matondkar was Ramu's Mehbooba girl, and her pictures doing the Mehbooba dance are no longer a clandestine affair. Ramu is convinced that someone was clicking those with their mobile cameras while on set, because Varma had decided not to use this song for the promo of his film. That way it's impossible for anyone but a unit member to have done the dubious deed, he believes. One wonders if Ramu will even allow cell phones on the sets from now on. He's so switched off!


Snippet: Disco dancer in Tollywood now!

Disco dancer Mithun Chakraborty is going to appear in a Telugu film shortly! The film stars Jagapathi Babu and Mamata Kulakarni and is being directed by JD Chakraborty. According to sources, Mithun plays a villain in the film. "Mithun is well known and has a great following as an antagonist, so he is apt for the film," says a folk of the unit.
