What is the difference between Rajni and Chiru in that matter? Here is a small table that's made based on a survey conducted on random sampling.

Chiranjeevi Announces Party On October 2nd

The image “http://www.greatandhra.com/newsimages/chiranjeevi51189488291.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

This is the hot news came out from reliable sources. Chiranjeevi has been in USA and has been talking to some key people on the announcement of new party. It is said that Chiranjeevi has chosen Gandhi Jayanthi to break the silence. He is going to announce a party on October 2 nd. Yes, it is a preplanned thing to act in 'Shankaradada Zindabad' to show his interest in Gandhian principles, we may consider.

'Chirutha' is releasing on September last week and it will be just within a week that Chiranjeevi announces his new political party as per the present plan. That way the film debut for his son and political debut for dad are going to happen almost at the same time.

It is also said that Chiranjeevi is in USA only to avoid the disturbance from kapu community people who have been pressurizing him to announce party. He will be landing in Hyderabad only after the release of Chirutha or else even though he returns he will be at home in silence. It is Allu Aravind's advice with which he went there. Let us see if there will be uproar in AP politics scenario on October 2nd.

Chiranjeevi Needs Lots and Lots of Navratan oil

The image “http://www.greatandhra.com/newsimages/chiranjeevi51189150052.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Remember Chiranjeevi's ad for a hair oil company – Navratan Kesh Tel to be precise. In the ad, Chiranjeevi says that whenever he is suffering from headache, tension, body pain and sleeplessness, he uses Navratan oil – Challa Challani Cool Cool.

Well, he is in the US now, and one doesn't know if he has enough stock of Navratan oil. He has a lot of headache on 4 counts.

First, his SDZ bombed and there is a lot of confusion as well as pressure on him about his 149th film. Many directors and writers are after him to give them a chance to do his next film. The second is Ram Charan Tej's debut film – Chirutha. The film is giving him sleepless nights. He is worried about the fate of the film and how people will receive his son. The film's release has been postponed several times on account of this.

And the third problem is one that is giving him the biggest headache. The problem has been plaguing him for a long, long time. It is about his entry into politics. He is under pressure from many quarters and he is unable to come out with a clear stand on it. So Chiranjeevi needs lots and lots of Navratan oil to keep him cool cool.

Finally, the 4th one is Pawan Kalyan's issue. It is churning in court of law now and Chiranjeevi is worried if it affects his public image.

Will Chiranjeevi Enter Communist Party

The banner of Eenadu today published a gossiping style of News (!) stating that Chiranjeevi sat with Communist party leaders at his home. It also mentioned that he invited them to his home and talked on various terms relating to politics. The item said that the communist leaders recalled the association of Allu Ramalingaih with Praja Natya Mandali, a close ally of Communists. That is the funniest part in the item.

There are many in Paraja Natya Mandali who are not communists at heart. Paraja Natya Mandali is only a cultural organization set up with a good motive of educating people and sensitizing them on various issues. But now there are many hardcore business men with caste feelings in Praja Natya Mandali. There are millionaires in that association. But they all play dramas and sensitize people to fight against irresponsible government. How far those rich people in Praja Natya Mandali are responsible for society? Allu Ramalingiah was also very rich. It doest mean that he was irresponsible to society. He had set up a Homeo Hosipital and before that he was a Freedom Fighter. His history is spotless.

But giving a call to Chiranjeevi saying about his father in law is a fun. Chiranjeevi's ideologies are never in tune with communism. He started charitable society and only God knows how far it is useful for poor and needy. There are many procedures to procure blood from CCT. They don't give blood just like that for any one when they come and cry for that. The long procedures may kill the patients as well. Such news hardly comes out. They don't show the interest in giving blood for patients than showing interest to squeeze blood from donors. Coming to taking the blood from donors, CCT team comes out only when there are some 200 donors at single place. Otherwise it says, 'It won't work out for us'. What is this word 'work out' means? It's a business term but not charity oriented. Apart from this, the CCT asks the donors in-charge to hire beds and equipment from a place in Jubilee Hills. That's again a business model between CCT and that bed-hiring shop in Jubilee Hills. There appears to have more business than charity in CCT. CCT spends nothing while going outdoors for taking blood from donors, except the fuel in their single vehicle. Water bottles or coconut water should be borne by donors themselves. So there is no big visible expenditure in this big 'business'. Well, the storage of blood may be expensive. But fans, out of their unconditional love for their star doesn't care all this.

There is no comparison between Allu Ramalingiah and Chiranjeevi. And Chiranjeevi never joins hands with Communists. If he joins, people also may not relish that.

Looking at flip side, Chandra Babu Naidu is doing another funny act with respect to eye donations and blood donations to divert people from Chiranjeevi to him.

What is this funny side of AP politics? It's ludicrous for all.

Reel Buzz : Producer Is The Real Villain For SDZ

The image “http://www.greatandhra.com/newsimages/shank21186638682.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Guess who is the happiest man before release and upset and disheartened after the release of Mega Star's 'Shankardada Zindabad'? Well, it is choreographer turned director Prabhu Deva. He had seen beaming with joy when he got an opportunity to direct Chiranjeevi. The movie released with a fanfare and lots of hungama but didn't get the expected response from public. There are many reasons and some are pointing their finger to Prabudeva.
"I couldn't recreate another wonder like my previous hit film but I did my best", confesses the scapegoat of the whole issue to his close associates.
The fact is that the Gemini Film Circuit didn't brother to do any publicity for the film. No promo is being shown in TV channels and even the stills of the film are very less.
"The sole reason for the failure of SDZ is lack of publicity", affirmed a trade pundit.
Hopefully the mater will end here and people will take notice.

Talk: ‘Chiranjeevi phobia’ saves Ummareddi

‘Chiranjeevi phobia’ has saved Ummareddi Venkateswralu’s scalp in the reshuffled TDP politburo as he is the only Kapu leader from coastal districts retaining his seat in the party’s highest decision making body.

Interestingly, another senior leader, Kodela Sivaprasada Rao from Guntur, has lost the battle for a place in the politburo due to caste equations. According to reports, party president Chandrababu Naidu had decided to drop Ummareddi from the politburo along with Karanam Balarama Krishna Murthy (Prakasam) and P Srinivasa Reddy (Mahbubnagar). While the decision to drop Balaram and Srinivasa was taken following their election as district unit presidents, Naidu wanted to remove Ummareddi with a view to reducing the ‘heavy weights’ from Guntur district.

Party senior leaders reportedly convinced Naidu that it may not be wise to drop Ummareddi from the politburo at a time when the entire coastal districts are engulfed in speculation about Chiru’s likely entry into politics, sources said.

There is a feeling among the Kapus that they are being given a ‘raw deal’ in the TDP when compared to the Congress. “Ummareddi’s removal will certainly send wrong signals to the Kapus, particularly when four Kapu leaders (Botsa Satyanarayana, Jakkampudi Rammohan Rao, Mandali Budha Prasad and Kanna Lakshminarayana) are serving as ministers in the YSR cabinet,” a senior leader said.

The TDP’s new state committee has left the party circles in Krishna district disappointed as neither the senior nor the youth leaders were accommodated in it. While Lal Jan Basha and Ummareddi got berths in the politburo, Kodela and Nannapaneni Rajakumari will continue as spokespersons. Another leader J R Pushparaj was made party vice-president.

Gossip: Chiranjeevi's Shopping Complex in L.A

The image “http://www.greatandhra.com/newsimages/shankardada1186547440.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

All that appears for public is not the only property of top celebrities of the state. It is really difficult to unearth and estimate the property values of these big men.

Chiranjeevi has a big shopping complex in Los Angeles. Raja Sekhara Reddy bought a very big shopping complex at Gilroy in Bay Area, California . Even Chandrababu Naidu bought one freshly very close to that of Raja Sekhara Reddy's mall.

All these big men go abroad for various cultural activities. But their interest is on their businesses. The broker is same for both YSR and Chandrababu in settling the deals.

Reel Talk: When Chiru played Psychiatrist!

Chiranjeevi played Psychiatrist recently. No he did not play the role of a psychiatrist in a movie but in real life.

It is well known that Chiru and Srikanth are the best of friends. Or should we say, more like brothers. Chiranjeevi has great love for Sriknath and in turn Sriknath has the highest regard and admiration for Chiranjeevi.

Srikanth was in a depression some time back following a string of flops. Srikanth was so dejected that he refused to move out of his house and meet people. Chiranjeevi then called up Srikanth and counseled him. He spoke to Srikanth about life and how there are always ups and down in life. Chiru asked Srikanth to take both success and failure in his stride. And Chiru’s counseling has done wonders – look how Srikanth has bounced back and his recent films are a testimony to this.

'I am just a student before Amitabh' : Chiru

The image “http://www.greatandhra.com/newsimages/filmfare11186272778.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Accepting the ‘Legend Award’ from superstar Amitabh Bachchan at the 54th Fair One Filmfare Awards-2006 function at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre here on Saturday, an overwhelmed Chiranjeevi said, “We have derived inspiration from Amitabh Bachchan. I am just a student before him, who is like a headmaster”.

P Susheela (singer) and U V Krishnam Raju (actor) were presented the lifetime achievement awards at the show. Giving the final touch to the show, the last award, Best Actor in Malayalam to Mammootty, was given by the Abhi-Ash couple who walked hand in hand as the crowd roared. Among the stars who missed the show were Mahesh Babu (Telugu/Best Actor) and Ajit (Tamil/Best Actor). Mahesh Babu’s wife Namrata received the award on his behalf. Stars including Meenakshi, Vineeth, Devi Sri Prasad, Mamtha Mohandas, Neetu Chandra, Simran, Kamna Jethmalani, Meenakshi, and Kaniha pepped up the show with their performances.

The highlight being the spectacular performance by music director Devi Sri Prasad. He worked the crowds with his ‘Good Morning’ number from the latest film ‘Shankardada Zindabad’. The crowd swayed to his numbers and demanded more. And he did not disappoint them, churning out number after number for 10 minutes. The show was choreographed by Deepak.

Hyd Reel Buzz : Chiru now turns his attention to Chirutha!

Chiranjeevi's Shankar Dada Zindabad had many surprise elements in it. As the movie progressed, star after star lined up to play cameo roles. First it was Devi Sree Prasd, then Prabhu flowed and then a host of actors from Pawan Kalyan to Ravi Teja, Allu Arjun and Naga Babu appeared in brief roes. The idea was to raise audience interest in the film. But the result at the box office shows otherwise.

Now, Chiranjeevi is said to be planning a similar strategy for son Ram Charan Tej's debut film Chirutha. While this is being kept a big secret, news from the sets reveals that Chiranjeevi is indeed doing a guest appearance in the movie. And he is most likely to shake legs with his son in a song.

Ram Charan was also named to be included in a guest role in Shankardada Z. However, it was later dropped as Chiranjeevi felt that by showing a yet to debut actor in a guest role, it would do more harm than good to Chirutha and Charan.

However, in Chiranjeevi's case, the story is entirely different. His presence in Chirutha will not only be a big morale booster for his son, but it will definitely boost the fate of the film as well.

Shankar Vara Prasad to Chiranjeevi to Director!

Chiranjeevi is now a relieved man. His much-awaited film Shankar Dada Zindabad has finally been released and has been received average by the audience. It may not be one of his best films but it certainly is one of his better films.

Chiranjeevi is now all set to act in his 150th movie. Paruchuri brothers have readied a script based on the life of the great freedom fighter from Rayalaseema, Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. And Chiranjeevi has agreed to play the title role.

It is being said in film circles that Chirnajeevi is keen to not only play the title role but also direct the movie.

If this is true, then, his fans will now have two reasons to rejoice. From Shankar Dada MBBS to Shankar Dada Director?!

Trade Talk: Shankardada Zindabad Becoming Weak!

The image “http://www.greatandhra.com/newsimages/shank21186111085.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

The film 'Shankardada Zindabad' was released with huge expectations. It is an open fact that Chiranjeevi's film run with houseful collections for at least 3 weeks. But out of astonishment, the collections of this film are going week from the 4th day of release itself. The collections are poor even in B, C centers. The film is different from typical Chiranjeevi formula. Producers failed to give proper publicity for the film. Many in B, C centers felt that 'Shankardada MBBS' is released again with changed title as they are not aware of sequel formula. The film is showing vacant seats in many theaters. So, it is now a big task to recover the deposits.

According to initial sources, the collections of 'Shankardada Zindabad' overseas also recorded poor and buyers are incurring heavy losses.

The buyers of 'Lakshyam' are happy as they initially felt that 'Shankardada Zindabad' would affect their collections. The film 'Lakshyam' made about 70 percent collections in many theaters.

'Sivaji' is completing 50 days run and 'AMAV' is completing 100 days this week

Chiranjeevi Said 'No Settlement' In Pawan's Case

This is the grapevine from legal sources. It is said that Chiranjeevi is the one who brought the issue of Pawn Kalyan to court leaving the idea of settlement aspect aside. He asked the lawyer not to go for settlement but approach court.

It seems that Chiranjeevi said, "It's not something very serious. It's neither IPC 302 case as well. Let that lady (Nandini) go to court. Let everything be solved by court".

Little while ago, it was said that Nandini's family and Pawan Kalyan have shown interest to do settlement at sum of Rs 8 Cr outside the court. But now the case has to face the court to settle down as per the dictum of the justice.

Top 5 Reasons Why ShankarDaDa Average Fare

One of the Best Story lines in Indian Movie History...
One of the Best Actor in Tollywood who perfectly fits the Bill..
One of the Craziest Music Directors of Tollywood
Top writer duo of Tollywood..
Top Dance Director in Indian Cinema ( who is also the director)
Big Production House...

Naturally you would expect no less than a Sensational Blockbuster...

Let's look at the top 5 reasons why SDZINDABAD turned out to an Average fare...

1. Heroine: The whole crux of the movie is how a hard core Dada falls for a beautiful, charming radio Jockey and ready to do anything for her. Unfortunately Karishma Kothak didn't appear any where close to be that.. (sorry Karishma)

2. Prabhu Deva (Director) : Prabhu Deva failed miserably to put his mark on the movie..He had nothing new to offer.. All he did was true Translation.

3. Paruchuri Bros : Prachuri Bro's in most parts of the movie took the same approach as their director.. Translation.. The comedy involving Shuddh Hindi (Vinamrata, Durgathi) failed to click in Telugu. They could neither come up with witty lines nor strong sentimental dialogues.

4. Prabhu deva (Dance Director) : Megastar probably is not as agile as he was few years ago but still has versatility and grace. Prabhu Deva as dance director could not exploit the dancing strengths of Chiru.

5.Poor Production Values : Couple of Scenes were cut and paste from Hindi (atleast it appeared to be).. and this coming from a Big production house like Gemini is quite surprising.

Gossip: Chiranjeevi Will Not Open His Mouth!

Chiranjeevi will not open his mouth until 'Chirutha' releases. This is the impression that is making rounds every where. Right now Chiranjeevi is amidst the problems of Pawan Kalyan, where Nandini, the wife of Pawan complained on Chiranjeevi as well as the one who troubled her during her stay with Pawan Kalyan just after the marriage.

So, to avoid any disturbance, or any controversy with his expression before media , he is preferring to keep silent until his son's debut releases.

Chiranjeevi is also keeping silence in the matter of his entry into politics. Let us see what he speaks after all silence.

Chiru's Mega-Endorsement of Gandhigiri : Shankar Dada

Friday, July 27, 2007 was a big day for Megastar Chiranjeevi's fans - his latest movie, Shankar Dada Zindabad was released. It has been a long (almost a two year) wait for Chiru fans since his last film, Stalin. It was also festive night for Telugus in several cities across the US. I went to see the movie on the first night, 2nd show. It was a sold out show. The theatre was filled with little children, teenagers, IT youngsters, elders and seniors. As with all Chiru movies, fans were ecstatic -screaming and whistling. It took 10-20 minutes for everyone to settle down into a relative calm.

It looks like director Prabhu Deva knew what spectators would expect in the first 10 minutes, and he presented Chiru to his fans in most delightful way.

He made it clear that this movie was going to be about Chiranjeevi and his mega-fans. Chiranjeevi showed that he is a great entertainer - his dances, dialogues, histrionics with a subtle touch of comedy remain unmatched in the Telugu film industry at the current time. Srikanth as ATM also did a fantastic job.

There are so many number of surprise special guest appearances by industry tops. The new heroine, Karishma Kotak was a good {physical) match to pair with Chiranjeevi, but she is green in the acting department. The visuals are great - thanks to Chota K. Naidu' s cinematography. The most exhilarating part of the movie is Devi Sri Prasad's music. Parachuri Brothers did a good job with dialogues, but not a great job. The original Hindi version had dialogues were written in pakka urban (Mumbai) ghetto slang that matched the main character. Parachuris failed to bring such a linguistic rendering for the main character. Their word play failed to produce the equivalent of "Bheja me chemical locha ...." and the impact that had on the central theme of the plot.

Most of you know that this is a remake of Rajkumar Hirani's "Lago Raho Munna Bhai" - a Hindi blockbuster in 2006. I had seen it in Hindi and I fell in love with the movie. It was not only a big commercial hit, but it also had profound impact on common man in India. We continue to read stories on how common citizens in India are successfully employing the tricks of Gandhigiri (shown in the movie) to tackle problems created by bureaucracy and the powerful. Recently, a school teacher/founder in Bangalore ended the illegal occupation of her school premises by sending flowers to the offenders everyday.

Chiranjeevi did an excellent job in Shankar Dada MBBS - the first movie in the Hirani's sequel. And he did a much more entertaining job in Shankar Dada Zinganad. His mesa-presence on the screen was enhanced by Devi Sri Prasad's music and Prabhu Deva's dialogue. However, Prabhu Deva missed one thing by surrounding Chiranjeevi with scantly clad women in the first and the last (item) songs - that megastar continues to have a big fan-following among 5-10 year olds. The movie is a great opportunity for these kids to learn about Mahatama Gandhi while they watch their matinee idol. Some parents may find this excessive exposure offensive and may not take their little kids to the movie.

I am sure it will be a big commercial success and I hope it will rekindle a renewed interest in Gandhi and Gandhigiri as much as the original did.

Hyd Buzz : Who Doesn't Want Chiranjeevi!

Irrespective of the end results of box office, Sakardada Zindabad gave a new image to Chiranjeevi as one still wields influence on multitudes of people, young and old.

This is one reason why everybody in politics tries to pamper him for two reasons – either he joins his party and strengthen it or at least he does not launch a party himself.

The type of ‘Sivaji' release wave of Rajanikanth appeared to have got repeated even with this film of Chiranjeevi, with fans going to the extent of performing poojas at temples for the film’s box office success. Even the tickets sold in blackmarket went up more than what they were selling at the time of the release of his previous films.

Perhaps the fanfare shown at the release of the film ‘Sivaji’ repeatedly on small screen and news papers reports must have caught notice of Chiranjeevi fans.

For the Telugu cinema Chiranjeevi is as big as Rajanikanth to Tamil cinema. There was a report, after the release of the film Sankardada Zindabad, the talk of Chiranjeevi joining politics has picked momentum, irrespective of cast politics. It appears that the kin of arch rivals of caste politics in Vijayawada and coastal Andhra joined hands in putting up banners of Chiranjeevi. Obviously Chiranjeevi has crossed all barriers of cast, creed and religion, which was visible at the time of the release of the film.

When we look at the composition of political parties, there are only two parties capable of coming to power in the state - ruling Congress party and its opposition, Telugu Desam Party. But the blood bath in today’s ‘band call’ given by communists and other opposition parties, demanding land for the poor, will sure change the picture. Though there were occasions earlier when such bandhs and marches turned into grave yards for some, this time a comparable situation has developed as to the land issue. While the Government displays all benevolence to some industrialists and giving away huge chunks of land for raising industries, there is talk why the government hesitates to take up the issue of allotting a small piece of land to poor individual families.

True there is a three phased plan of giving houses straight away to the poor. But the progress on it is a snail walk. Besides, lawlessness, landgrabbing, real-estate goondaism, has risen in an unprecedented way. The day to day life in A.P., including terrible rise in cost of living and many other problems have thrown a big question as to who would be able to handle the state better. There is talk of the need of a third political party to come to power, as they had already tasted the rule of the two existing political rivals. Perhaps this may be a right time for Chiranjeevi to ponder over the issue. He is young enough, still to jump into politics. If he wants to keep that film image of ‘Andari vaadu’ even in politics, he should better launch his own party for the sake the people of entire state. If he joins any one of the existing parties he would soon be cornered. And if he decides to plunge into politics, he should always keep in mind that he should never be branded with a particular cast.

Spotlight: Rivals say ‘Sankardada Zindabad’

Vijayawada: With the much-awaited ‘Sankardada Zindabad’ having released here on Friday to huge fan frenzy, speculation over megastar Chiranjeevi’s political ‘arangetram’ is back in focus. And if people thrive on such speculations, will our netas be far behind?

It was no surprise that the hot-bed of the caste politics in the state —Vijayawada—was packed with flex banners and posters of Chiru to coincide with the film’s release.

But what raised eyebrows was the unflinching zeal of the followers of Devineni Nehru’s son Avinash to put up banners and posters of Chiru all over the city.

Senior Congress legislator, Nehru, is a known representative of Kammas in the district, while Chiru belongs to the Kapu community.

In fact, it was caste politics which sowed the seeds of a feud between Nehru and late MLA Vangaveeti Ranga about a decade ago.

While Nehru represents the powerful Kammas, Ranga was the vanguard for Kapus in the region. Vijayawada city, for long, faced the brunt of the caste wars between these two strong communities. While a majority of the Kammas support the Telugu Desam Party, their rivals plunged into politics by joining the Congress. After the split in the Telugu Desam Party in 1995, Nehru joined the Congress and presently represents Kankipadu constituency.

Meanwhile, Ranga’s son Radha too got elected as an MLA from Vijayawada east constituency. Both these arch rivals have now joined hands in the party to take on the local MP Rajagopal.
