Trade Talk: Shankardada Zindabad Becoming Weak!

The film 'Shankardada Zindabad' was released with huge expectations. It is an open fact that Chiranjeevi's film run with houseful collections for at least 3 weeks. But out of astonishment, the collections of this film are going week from the 4th day of release itself. The collections are poor even in B, C centers. The film is different from typical Chiranjeevi formula. Producers failed to give proper publicity for the film. Many in B, C centers felt that 'Shankardada MBBS' is released again with changed title as they are not aware of sequel formula. The film is showing vacant seats in many theaters. So, it is now a big task to recover the deposits.

According to initial sources, the collections of 'Shankardada Zindabad' overseas also recorded poor and buyers are incurring heavy losses.

The buyers of 'Lakshyam' are happy as they initially felt that 'Shankardada Zindabad' would affect their collections. The film 'Lakshyam' made about 70 percent collections in many theaters.

'Sivaji' is completing 50 days run and 'AMAV' is completing 100 days this week

Big Fight Between 'Shankardada' And 'Yama Donga'

Chiranjeevi's 'Shankardada Zindabad' is released and the multi stars affect in the film pleased many. Same is the case with Yamadonga where there is multi star factor with Mohan Babu, Mamatha Mohan Das, Rambha, Khushboo, Priyamani, Preeti Jingiani and others.

Chiranjeevi used his voice in a song in 'Shankardada Zindabad' and NTR used his voice for a song in 'Yama Donga'.

Chiranjeevi turned slimmer than before for 'Shankardada Zindabad'. NTR's look is need less to describe. He reduced 26.5 kgs on a whole.

Music director Devi Sri Prasad scored third time for Mega Star's film with 'SDZ'. MM Keeravani also scored third film with NTR with 'Yama Donga'.

Spotlight: Rivals say ‘Sankardada Zindabad’

Vijayawada: With the much-awaited ‘Sankardada Zindabad’ having released here on Friday to huge fan frenzy, speculation over megastar Chiranjeevi’s political ‘arangetram’ is back in focus. And if people thrive on such speculations, will our netas be far behind?

It was no surprise that the hot-bed of the caste politics in the state —Vijayawada—was packed with flex banners and posters of Chiru to coincide with the film’s release.

But what raised eyebrows was the unflinching zeal of the followers of Devineni Nehru’s son Avinash to put up banners and posters of Chiru all over the city.

Senior Congress legislator, Nehru, is a known representative of Kammas in the district, while Chiru belongs to the Kapu community.

In fact, it was caste politics which sowed the seeds of a feud between Nehru and late MLA Vangaveeti Ranga about a decade ago.

While Nehru represents the powerful Kammas, Ranga was the vanguard for Kapus in the region. Vijayawada city, for long, faced the brunt of the caste wars between these two strong communities. While a majority of the Kammas support the Telugu Desam Party, their rivals plunged into politics by joining the Congress. After the split in the Telugu Desam Party in 1995, Nehru joined the Congress and presently represents Kankipadu constituency.

Meanwhile, Ranga’s son Radha too got elected as an MLA from Vijayawada east constituency. Both these arch rivals have now joined hands in the party to take on the local MP Rajagopal.

Story :

First half of the film is excellent and is totally entertaining. The second half is good, and has less entertainment towards climax as emotions had to catch up. The plus points of the film are Chiranjeevi's all-round performance, PRABUDEVS handling of emotional scenes, nice storyline, music and comedy. In emotional films, we find less entertainment. In entertaining films, we find less emotion. Here is one film that is blended with both emotion and entertainment in a wonderful way. And this film has something to offer to every cross-section of audiences. 'Shankardada MBBS' is a universal film that would appeal to both classes and masses.

Chiranjeevi who has gone on vacation to Bangalore few days back is in city today evening. He along with his family is watching a preview of Shankar Dada Zindabad at Prasad labs. The show was started at 9:15. The other heroes who were present in the preview show were Pawan Kalyan, Allu Arjun and Ram Charan Teja.

USA record number of theaters
Shankar Dada Zindabad is releasing in a record number of 36 theaters this week in USA. This is a record for any Telugu cinema. The prints have already reached USA. The exhibitors from all areas are gearing up for premiere shows on the evening of 26 July by hiking the admission rates. SDZ is also gets the credit of being the first Telugu film to release in Canada simultaneously.

Airtel 1st tie up with any Telugu film
It is been Anil Ambani’s Reliance Communication that got actively associated with Telugu film so far with corporate branding and sponsorships. Airtel too jumped the bandwagon this time by choosing Shankar Dada Zindabad as its first venture. Now you can download all the ring tones of SDZ from Airtel phones.

S 93.5 fm aggressive promo
Superhit 93.5 Sfm is one of the most popular Telugu FM radio stations in Hyderabad. This FM station belongs to Sun TV. Incidentally Gemini Film Circuit banner is associated with Sun TV. Hence this Superhit 93.5 Sfm has been promoting SDZ aggressively by playing exclusive songs and conducting singing contests and giving free SDZ tickets to the winners. The lady callers who call to 93.5 Sfm were asked to sing the item song of SDZ (with titillating lyrics) before awarding them tickets. Incidentally heroine's role in this film is that of a RJ (radio jockey). And Karishma Kotak plays the role of S 93.5 Sfm RJ.

Releasing Today: Shankardada is back

Chiranjeevi as the lovable Shankardada is back in “Shankardada Zindabad,” directed by Prabhudeva. A remake of “Lage Raho Munnabhai,” “Shankardada Zindabad” is the most anticipated Tollywood biggie of 2007. The film , produced by Gemini Film Circuits, opens with a record number of prints worldwide on Friday. Kashmira Kotak plays the vibrant Radio Jockey; Dilip Prabhavalkar dons the role of Mahatma Gandhi; and Srikanth plays the hero’s wacky friend. The highlight is a dance sequence canned on Chiranjeevi’s brother Pawan Kalyan who makes a cameo appearance. The music is by Devi Sri Prasad.

Interestingly, some of Chiranjeevi's family members including brothers Pawan Kalyan and Nagendra Babu and son-in-law Allu Arjun will have a guest appearances in the film along with other Raviteja.

A visibly excited Chiranjeevi says he is sure that the remake will have the same impact as the Hindi original.

“You will become religious after watching the movie, as you will be under the Gandhi effect,” Chiranjeevi said.

Directed by Prabhudeva, Shankardada Zindabad is releasing in as many as 47 theaters in Hyderabad including Prasad's Imax which will screen 20 shows for the first three days after it's release.

In USA, Shankardada Zindabad is releasing today with 17 prints and 30 centers.

Snippet: Mega Treat For Chiru Fans!

The D-Day has come. The long wait of Chiru's fans has come to an end. The film 'Shankardada Zindabad' is hitting the theaters tomorrow in about 350 centers. The advance bookings of the tickets are over in many theaters. Although there is no media hype about this film, the fans have thronged for tickets in a few theaters.
On the other hand the black marketers are also venturing in big way in taking these tickets and selling, looking at the suddenly found demand. A big queue of about 100 mts is found at Prasad's Multiplex and other theatres. All the tickets for all four shows for 4 days were already booked.
The official black market price per ticket is between Rs 250 and Rs 600.

Will megastar's Shankar Dada Zindabad hit the marquee with success?

With only a couple of days left for the megastar's Shankar Dada Zindabad to hit the marquee, Tollywood's trade pundits are busy calculating its fate at the box office.

Directed by PRABHUDEVA, SDZ was shot in a very short duration.

According to the sources, territory wise distribution rights have been sold for Rs 8.5 crore for Nizam area and Rs 7.5 crore for north Andhra region.

Shankardada MBBS released with 303 prints and Stalin released with 317. Apparently, SDZ is releasing with 333 prints only in AP.

The film is expected to be screened in over 550 theatres across the state. Another record is that, in Nizam the film is releasing with 101 prints into 144 theatres.

Prabhudeva: 'Shankardada' A True Copy Of 'Lago Raho'

Prabhudeva, the director of Shankraadada Zindabad said that there are no changes made in the film from original except the songs and dances.

He said, "Sanjay Dutt didn't dance in 'Lage Raho..' but Chiranjeevi needs dances. So we made big changes in songs and dances and rest of the film is kept as it is. The Gandhgiri concept is not at all changed from the original". It's a true copy of 'Lage Raho Munnabhai' implied Prabhudeva.
He also said, "I watched Lage Raho Munnabhai in Hyderabad as a normal viewer. I liked the film and felt that the concept in novel. The idea of bringing Gandhism to new time is good. After a long time, I got call from Chiranjeevi garu asking me to direct the Telugu version of 'Lage Raho Munnabhai'. Who can miss the chance of directing Chiranjeevi garu? I said, 'YES' without thinking anything. I was afraid while remaking the Pokiri in Tamil. But after the success of that film, I lost the fear of making the remakes. At the same time, I didn't direct 'Shankardada MBBS'. Still, I didn't feel any problem in making its sequel".
The film is set to release day after tommrow, on 27th July with 350 prints all over. Chiranjeevi, Kaishma Kotak, Srikanth. Shayaji Shinde, Dilip Prabhavalkar, Pawan Kalyan, Allu Arjun and Ravi Teja are seen this film, the grand multi star flick in recent times.

Shankar Dada Sequel to be Released Worldwide By Kosmic

Following the box office success of the Chiranjeevi sensation Shankar Dada M.B.B.S., Gemini Film Circuit is producing a sequel film, Shankar Dada Zindabad, for worldwide release. Like the first film, Shankar Dada Zindabad features Padma Bhushan, Mega Star Dr. Chiranjeevi as the hero, promising yet another hit. The film, directed by Prabhu Deva, will be released worldwide by Kosmic Films on July 25, with a preview screening to be held in advance in select markets.

Alongside main hero Chiranjeevi are four other major star actors playing accompanying roles – a cast of unprecedented strength. These include Power Star Pawan Kalyan, sensational hero Ravi Teja, Stylish Star Allu Arjun, and Srikanth. Actress Karishma Kotak is the female lead. In addition to the star-studded cast, also drawing attention to Shankar Dada Zindabad is the impressive soundtrack. Music Director Devi Sri Prasad produced a range of hit songs that have so far led to record audio sales, creating a major buzz for the upcoming cinema release. The songs “Aakaleste Annam Pedatha,” “Good Morning, Hyderabad…,” and “Schoolkeli Chadavaledu” have all been tremendously popular.

Kosmic Films will be bringing the film to all markets outside of India, in association with Raman Sanchula of Peacock Indian Café. Kosmic Films aims to bring quality South Indian and Bollywood films into worldwide markets, with offices in India, Asia, Europe, and North America. Star Talk: Karishma Kotak all praise for Chiru

Karishma Kotak who is playing the lead opposite Chiranjeevi in Sankerdada Zindabad is bowled over by her illustrious co-star's humility.

"Having heard about the demi-god status he enjoys in Tollywood, I was very nervous about the prospect of working with someone of his stature,” says Karishma.

The film, directed by Prabhudeva is scheduled to hit the screens on August 25.

"He is a thorough gentleman and it’s my privilege to work with him this early in my career. It was a great learning experience and I am looking forward to the release of the film," she adds.
