Releasing Today: Shankardada is back

Chiranjeevi as the lovable Shankardada is back in “Shankardada Zindabad,” directed by Prabhudeva. A remake of “Lage Raho Munnabhai,” “Shankardada Zindabad” is the most anticipated Tollywood biggie of 2007. The film , produced by Gemini Film Circuits, opens with a record number of prints worldwide on Friday. Kashmira Kotak plays the vibrant Radio Jockey; Dilip Prabhavalkar dons the role of Mahatma Gandhi; and Srikanth plays the hero’s wacky friend. The highlight is a dance sequence canned on Chiranjeevi’s brother Pawan Kalyan who makes a cameo appearance. The music is by Devi Sri Prasad.

Interestingly, some of Chiranjeevi's family members including brothers Pawan Kalyan and Nagendra Babu and son-in-law Allu Arjun will have a guest appearances in the film along with other Raviteja.

A visibly excited Chiranjeevi says he is sure that the remake will have the same impact as the Hindi original.

“You will become religious after watching the movie, as you will be under the Gandhi effect,” Chiranjeevi said.

Directed by Prabhudeva, Shankardada Zindabad is releasing in as many as 47 theaters in Hyderabad including Prasad's Imax which will screen 20 shows for the first three days after it's release.

In USA, Shankardada Zindabad is releasing today with 17 prints and 30 centers.
