Hyderabad International Film Festival announcement

The Hyderabad International Film Festival (HIFF) which successfully held its first edition of the festival in March 2007, is readying to present a more interesting and versatile programme for the next edition, to be held from 3rd to 10th January 2008.

In this connection, its parent bodies, Hyderabad Film Club, and AP Film Directors’ Association are pleased to announce that from henceforth HIFF will have the sagacious counsel of Dr. Dasari Narayana Rao , Hon’ble Minister for State for Coal, Government of India, as the Chairman of the Festival. The following leading lights of film industry are in the advisory panel.

Both Hyderabad Film Club and AP film Directors’ Association take this opportunity to thank Dr. Dasari, as well as the members of the advisory panel, for having consented to be associated with the festival and guide us for proper conduct of festival. Mr. Ramesh Prasad has kindly agreed to provide the prasad multiplex theatres for projection of films, and thus Prasad multiplex will be the main venue of the festival this time.­

HIFF looks forward to reach you with a wide spectrum of films, thanks to the wise counsel of the above advisory body and the Chairman of the Festival.

The exciting programme that is being chalked out for presentation in the second edition will include a package of latest films from French, Korea, Japan, Iran, China, South Africa, Israel, Turkey, Algeria, Srilanka, Poland, USA and other countries, apart from picking up the best of films that have been made during the last 2-3 years , and have been touring world wide festival circuit. Thus we intend to make our festival a festival of festival films. As usual, we will have a separate competitive documentary section as well.
