Telugu Film News 10-06-2007
It is said in grapevine that ANR is very health conscious and takes not more than 2 pegs every night. His brand is Napoleon French Whisky and at times Johnny Walker. He said in a recent meet to one of his friends that doctor advised him to take 2 pegs everyday.
ANR is also particular about light food and that too organic stuff. ANR's mother lived for 90 years in healthy state and obviously ANR is stronger than her, say close doctors of ANR.
Impression: Like Nutan Prasad Now Gummadi
Now Gummadi also follows him by amending his decision. His voice was suffered ever since he was met with paralysis stroke. That wasn't recovered even now. He thought to keep away from acting as his voice is to be got dubbed by others. But now he is playing the role of a 100 year old yogi whose voice has to be weak and unclear. That way his physical distortion turned apt to play the role. The film 'Kasinayana' and the shooting parts are still going on.
Gummadi shared his feeling to one of his friends saying that it would be his last film. But he may play few more roles of that sort if the character's voice has to be distorted as per the script.
Nostalgia: NTR's Respect For Telugu Scholars
Dr C Narayana Reddy was the close pal of senior NTR and that was known for all. C Na Re never looked back after getting in touch with NTR for writing the songs for his film 'Gulebakavali Katha' in 1962.
The friendship continued for decades together and when NTR turned CM the poet C Na Re was given big regards from the side of Government as well. He was awarded with prestigious Jnanapeeth at that time by Central Government. NTR used to come till the car of C Na Re and bid an adieu for him closing the door even in the status of CM.
That's all because of C Na Re's command on Telugu.
After a long time when NTR turned CM for the second time another incident was happened. Nagaphani Sarma was introduced by Lakshmi Parvathi to him.
Lakshmi Parvathi said (showing Nagaphani to NTR), "He is a good scholar in Telugu".
NTR replied, "Even you are a scholar".
Then Lakshmi Parvathi said, "He can tell poems in spontaneity".
Nagaphani intruded and talked to NTR, "I'll tell if you permit me".
NTR nodded his head positively.
Nagaphani sang six poems mellifluously on NTR.
NTR was surprised and understood the material in Nagaphani Sarma. He gave a signal to Lakshmi Parvathi. She went inside and brought a shawl. NTR stood and covered Nagaphani with shawl. That's the salute he used to give for poets, scholars and Telugu pundits who possess extra ordinary talents.
Rest of the story is known. Nagaphani Sarma did Dwi Satavadhanam in the presence of NTR and later became a celebrity.
Sonia asked YSR to go soft on Ramoji?
After making so much hungama by conducting raids on the offices of Margadarsi Financiers and seizing documents, the CID authorities have gone slow in their further investigations. As a matter of fact, the CID authorities are tightlipped on what they are going to do next.
What is more surprising is that even Congress MP Undavalli Arun Kumar, who shot into limelight by exposing the irregularities in collection of deposits by Margadarsi, has also kept silent these days, stating that the ball is in the court of the State government and the courts.
Inquiries revealed that AICC president Sonia Gandhi has directed Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy not to go too aggressive against media baron Ramoji Rao, the owner of Margadarsi, since it had sent a wrong message among the public that the government is witchhunting the media. It is learnt Ramoji Rao, with the help of his Leftist media friend N Ram, Editor of The Hindu, prevailed upon the Left parties to come to his rescue. The Left parties, which are virtually holding the UPA governemnt to ransom, brought pressure on Sonia not to target the Eenadu group. And it has yielded the desired effect.
Now, YSR has left it to the criminal court to decide, rather than asking the CID to run after the head of Ramoji Rao. The government would take further action depending on the court decision.
