Brahmini - elder daughter of Bala Krishna Nandamuri - got engaged to Nara Lokesh - son of Nara Chandrababu Naidu - at 11:30 am at Bala Krishna’s residence in Hyderabad. The muhurat of marriage is decided as 8:34 am on 26 August.

This function was attended by the family members of Nandamuri. The films stars from Nandamuri family who came to the function were Hari Krishna, NTR, Kalyan Ram and Taraka Ratna. The outsiders who were invited for this event were ANR, Gummadi, K Raghavendra Rao, D Rama Naidu, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Amala, Mohan Babu, Krishnam Raju, KL Narayana, Allu Arvind, DVS Raju, YVS Chowdary, Devi Vara Prasad, Konda Krishnam Raju and B Gopal.

Lots of fans gathered around Bala Krishna’s house to get a glimpse of Bala Krishna and his guests.

Though Bapus film is indefinetely postponed Suhani is back with a bang. She has been signed by Amma Rajashekhar for his next film where she is paired opposite Nithin and being produced by Paruchuri Sivarama Prasad who made Rajababu with Rajasekhar. This movie is a remake of Tamil Blockbuster "Thiruvilayadal Arambham" starred Dhanush and Shriya. Music by Chakri of Desamuduru Fame and shooting starts very soon from 28th June, and slated for Dasara-Diwali Release.

This is mostly going to be Suhani's Debut Film as heroine. All the Best Suhani.

Spotlight: 'Vote for Taj' campaign a gimmick!

The credibility of the much-hyped campaign to vote the Taj Mahal as one of the world's new seven wonders is now in question.

"The New 7 Wonders of the World" campaign has been launched by the owner of a Swiss website. "The whole campaign is a media hoax," says Surendra Sharma, president of the Braj Mandal Heritage Conservation Society here. "How can the whole government machinery be used to hype a campaign launched by a private entrepreneur?"

Sudhir Kumar, the Agra chief of the Indian government's tourism department, admitted that the campaign was a private one and those supporting it were doing so in their private capacity.

"The campaign is not backed by any government agency, though we feel it is good and in the interest of the tourism industry as a whole to promote the Taj Mahal," Kumar told IANS.

K Mishra, a senior official in the Uttar Pradesh tourism department, said his office had nothing to do with the campaign.

KK Sharma of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) here described the campaign as "economic exploitation of the sentiments of the Indian people. No two monuments are alike and they should not be compared.

"It is an injustice to the status and dignity of the Taj Mahal."

But the ASI has circulated banners and pamphlets appealing to people to vote for the Taj though this initiative has reportedly been taken by its Bhopal circle.

The tourism industry has been promoting the campaign in its own interest. Several government agencies and voluntary groups have also got involved.

District Magistrate Mukesh Meshram headed a procession this week to mobilise votes for the Taj.

Mughal historian R Nath says the whole campaign is uncalled for. "The Taj is already a taj (crown). It needs no certification from any authority."

The people on the street here do not know who has promoted the campaign, but think it is the government. One hotelier said: "We thought it must be a government-supported campaign since the district authorities were taking so much interest."

Unesco, which runs the World Heritage Programme, has denied that it has anything to do with this campaign.

Talk: Is ETV 'Star War' Fooling Audience!

'Star War' is the TV program that's carved after getting inspiration from the program 'Naach Baliye' in Hindi channel.

Prabhakar, the actor cum close pal of ETV Suman is anchoring the show while three judges will be present to announce the winner. The participants will be the actors and actresses who appear in TV serials regularly. When the winner is announced, the loser will be crying and breaking into tears. Then the jury members will console her hugging. Even Prabhakar also comes forward to hug lady contestants if they turn out to be losers. There will be big send off show for the loser.

What's all this? Many are in doubt that it will be fixing and the loser will be known before. As the contestants are anyway performers in TV serials it's very easy for them to bluff audience as if they are really crying.

The losers will not lose anything and the winners win no big cash prize. Then why the losers cry to that extent as if they lost everything in their lives?

Many feel that the show is fooling audiences like WWF, which runs of fixing.

Vihari Has Nothing But Sexy Wet Show!

The film Vihari was released on Friday and it is concluded that there is nothing but hot sexy wet show of heroine Polin in that.

The film couldn't turn the heads of anyone and it's proved to be film with beaten track narration and no newness at all. The love track between a foreign tourist and Indian Guide is the main theme of this film. Polin, the actress who played the foreign tourist is unhesitant in showing her beauty and oomph factor. But the film cannot run merely on that.

Although some romance and sentiment is blended that didn't touch the audiences. It is pity to notice that hardly audiences are seen in theatres even on weekend.

Murali Mohan Never Touched Alcohol?

Murali Mohan dug his nostalgia and shared the moments when he entered film industry.

He said, "At my 33rd year I got the opportunity to act in films. It has come by its own and I made no efforts at all. I was already blessed with 2 years by then who are about 7 years. I never took any decision without the consent of my wife and my wife also does the same. I asked her if I can get into Film Industry. I was running a business then. She asked me to go first and come back and continue business if the opportunities are not coming in films in succession. I too kept some restrictions. I decided not to take alcohol, play cards and get into relations with women. I bound by those till now. My wife and I never do anything that hurts each other".

That's really a good inspiration and good lesson for youngsters. It's really a tough game to keep away from any one of those '3'. But Murali Mohan claims to be a right example.

City Buzz: FM Radios Are Going 'Crazy And Nuts'!

Contests rule the air waves. FM channels have found that contests of all kinds and hues find favour with listeners, even if they are ridiculous. Not surprising then that one FM channel actually held a contest for the worst singer in the city. And not only did listeners call in and unabashedly sang in their worst voices, they even voted for the worst among them. Then there was another FM station that asked people to phone in with "what will you do if your beloved girlfriend said she hates you?" Another one was when one RJ asked some very, we mean easy questions, and gave the prize for answering them as incorrectly as possible, without hesitation. Who is our CM? Answer George W Bush without batting an eyelid and viola you have won!

Is Jr NTR Not Received By Balakrishna?

Today is the engagement of Chandrababu's son and Balakrishna's daughter. Jr NTR stepped into Balakrishna's house in the morning for the event of his cousin Brahmani's engagement with Lokesh Naidu. But he came out within 15 minutes and left the place abruptly. It is said that he just met his father Hari Krishna and left the place as he is not received by any responsible people there.

But other set of people say that there is nothing like that but NTR is busy in the shooting of 'Yama Donga' and that's why just came for attendance. The right reason is yet to be known.

After inspiring from Aish-Abhi marriage the AP media also got sensitized about the importance of covering celebrity issues for DART rating. Now the engament of Lokesh-Brahmani is also being covered by two channels.

The cameras are not allowed inside. The electronic media could show only the happenings at the main gate of Balakrishna's house and the things those are happening inside when the gate is opened.

5. Jr.NTR walked in with pleasant face but walked out seriously and rushed in his car closing the door roughly. What happened inside is a mystery.

Today is the most memorable day in the families of Nandamuri and Nara . It's second time that both these surnames are coming together on betrothal. Balakrishna's daughter Brahmani and Chandrababu Naidu's son Lokesh are getting engaged today.

That's a beginning for new relation on one side and big political move on the other. The house of Balakrishna is decorated well but that's going to be a complete private party.

Only the close family members and best friends of Babu and Balayya will be seen in the ceremony as per the sources and Chandrababu's earlier statement.

Hero Srikanth Comes Forward To Help

Hero Srikanth comes forward to help flood victims by donating Rs 2 lakhs. He responded very promptly, acclaim many. He donated that to Chief Minister Welfare Fund.

"I know the woes of flood victims will be washed out with this small amount. I feel if any body comes forward taking inspiration from me, that will be a great help for worrying victims", said Srikanth.

He also said that Operation Duryodhana is the biggest hit in his career so far, and also extended his thanks for all the audiences those brought huge success for this film.

"Although released as a small film, it was made big hit by people", Srikanth added.

Women misuse anti dowry law against husbands

CHENNAI: Popular kollywood actor Prashanth, who is fighting a legal battle for divorce from his estranged wife Grihalakshmi, on Saturday said misuse of the anti-dowry law by women should be prevented.

Talking to reporters at a meeting organised by “save India family foundation”, an organisation formed by 'affected' husbands, he said the anti-dowry law had become an easy tool for women to file complaints against husbands and their in-laws whenever there were differences of opinion.

“I have been in the industry for over 15 years and have won many friends and admirers through my films. My parents arranged the wedding. I had spoken to grihalakshmi several Times before our marriage.”

“Unfortunately after the wedding, problems started. She chose to stay away from me. I had made several efforts to live together and even filed a petition in a family court seeking directions to instruct my wife to live with me”, he added.

However, Grihalakshmi chose to file an anti-dowry complaint against him, which besmirched his family. “We were also forced to get anticipatory bail,” he pointed out.

Screen Buzz: Suman takes Rajini head on!

In 1981, Suman and Rajinikanth acted together in a movie called Thee, which means fire.

But it is now that Suman is creating waves, with his fiery performance in Sivaji where his character Adiseshan is pitted against Rajini's Sivaji.

"It was a real test for me. In this particular scene before I give him a Re 1 coin and ask him to become a coolie or a milkman or a bus conductor, the audience was boiling. And then when I ask him to go and beg, there was a big roar in the theatre," says Suman.

Suman has acted in nearly 300 films, most of them in Telugu. His beatific smile makes him one of the most sought-after actors in mythological movies.

Now Sivaji's success, he says, will mean he will take a break from playing God.

"I don't have any more Gods to play. I am an actor, I want to act. So the only thing is to play a negative character," says Suman.
