Madhu Shalini rejected more than 25 offers!

In an industry where everybody is in a hurry to reach the top league, Madhu Shalini is quite bindaas. In just one year, she has rejected more than 25 offers! "I know that's quite something. Not everyone would dare to do that, especially when you are a budding actress. But then, nothing intrested me. I am sure of where I am headed to - and that's the top. That's possible only if I carve a niche in the film industry with good work," says the confident actress.

Madhu Shalini is currently shooting for Babu, where she is playing the lead opposite Sivaji. "In my earlier film, Kitakitalu, I played a glamorous role, akin to Sushmita Sen's in Bibi No 1. After that, I was flooded with offers to do more glamorous roles which did not intrest me. And finally, Babu came my way. I play the role of a traditional Brahmin girl and it's quite interesting. The film is laced with humour and is a complete family entertainer," says Madhu.

Interestingly, she has signed a Tamil movie titled Palari Appa Kaluri. Does it indicate her interest in Kollywood? "Why not? Surprisingly, while I have been waiting for good offers from Tollywood, I am being flooded with wonderful offers from big banners in Tamil. I have never considered language as a barrier to good acting ," says Madhu, who zoomed her way into Tollywood with an item number in Chiranjeevi starrer AndariVaadu. "I did this number because it was a Chiranjeevi starrer," says the classical dancer and a model.

While modelling still remains a passion, acting seems to another let out for her creativity . And in her free time, she loves hanging out with friends, sketching and painting . "I sometimes miss the privacy. But it's all part of the game," Madhu signs off.
