Salman, Govinda team up for Partner

Salman Khan and Govinda are the new best friends in tinsel town.

Apparently, the two have become so chummy that they make it a point to meet each other everyday irrespective of their busy schedules.

Now, they will be seen in David Dhawan's Partner, which releases on July 20.

We saw them last in Nikhil Advani's dud, Salaam-E-Ishq. We only hope that David Dhawan will be more successful.

The two also shared screen time very briefly in Deewana Mastana, starring Anil Kapoor and Juhi Chawla.

Partner will see Salman costar with his offscreen girlfriend Katrina Kaif. The couple had earlier starred in the hit, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya.

Lara Dutta also stars in the film.

Interestingly, Katrina is paired with Govinda while Lara is paired with Salman in Partner.

Govinda was going through a lean phase in his career when Salman bailed him out.

His home production Ssukh was a dud, and Govinda had to content himself with his political career -- he joined politics in 2004 and contested successfully from the Mumbai North constituency by defeating BJP candidate, Ram Naik.

Salman started recommending Govinda's name to filmmakers, and was instrumental in his first comeback hit, Bhagam Bhag, directed by Priyadarshan.

Partner is apparently inspired from the Will Smith-starrer Hitch.

Salman plays a 'love guru' (like Will Smith in Hitch), and doles out advice to Govinda on how to get women.

Lets wait and watch if Partner is just as good a laugh riot as it promises to be.
