Siva Reddy and VijayaLakshmi’s 'Anandalahari' in LA

Siva Reddy and VijayaLakshmi’s Anandalahari in Los Angeles on Saturday October 13th 2007 was an exciting blend of music and comedy that had the 600 plus capacity crowd perfectly delighted and entertained. This event is organized by Ravi Koneru of Chakra Foundation and LAtelugu.com to raise Funds and promote Society for Rural Scholars (www.indiansprings.in), a non-profit Organization based in Guntur AP. The Society was created with a motto: “A foundation investing in promising futures” by helping the economically backward rural children and youth for their education at various levels. All the proceeds of this event including the food stall sales will be directed to the Society.

Event was sponsored by Hamilton Brewert Insurance. Kiran Muppavarapu and Aishwarya Guntireddy coordinated the show.The event kicked-off with Deepa Prajwalana by Mr and Mrs Prasad Vepa. “Nightingale” of Andhra Pradesh Vijayalakshmi dressed in elegant pink oozed enthusiasm singing out lively classical and romantic songs in her melodious voice. Audiences were rocked with her interactive style and teasing dance numbers. Her songs were applauded both by young and old alike.

Much awaited entertainer “Funstar” Siva Reddy’s arrival on stage brought huge cheers in the crowd. His show was hysterically funny. Siva Reddy’s performance included hilarious stand-up comedy on daily incidents and outrageous impressions of several well known politicians and movie stars. Siva Reddy’s excelled in interactive comedy, connected well with the audience in his comical roller coaster and lifestyle comparisons between India and US.

The event climaxed with duets sung by Siva Reddy and Vijaya Lakshmi, with synergy and impressive stage presence. Audience joined on stage in singing and dancing along with the artists to culminate an event that is one of the best in recent times. Both the artists of the evening were felicitated by Mr. and Mrs. Dharma Reddy and Mr Sarath Kamineni. Program ended with vote of thanks from notes from Ravi Koneru of Chakra Foundation and Nandan Kumar Potluri. They thanked co-sponsors, Chakra Cuisine, Annapoorna Garden Restaurant and www.LAtelugu.com and volunteer team including– Smt. Lakshmi Chundu, Suresh Chilukuri, Kiran Erra, Sudhi Paladugu, Vijay Thumma, Aravind Atluri, Sukumar Janga, Venkat Gudladona, Rama Kunchanpalli and Mani Vagvala in helping put together the entertaining night.

The evening moved the audience greatly and won their long-lasting applause. LA audience commented that the show was clean and funny and hoped to see more of such family events in Los Angeles .
