Why NTR Is Reserved Than Before?

NTR seems to be reserved than before, say the observers. He used t talk very actively before but now he is a bit reserved and just speaking only up to the requirement, says the close circles.

Especially he is very reserved with media than earlier. Why is he doing so? It is said that it is the suggestion given by his style consultant. 'The less a celebrity speaks, more will be his charisma'. That is the simple assumption followed by him. We have to see how he opens himself after the release of 'Yamadonga' for its promotion.

Well, NTR is appearing without pony tail now. He is with air cut look and getting ready for 'Kantree'.

City Buzz: You Can Act In Every Film Virtually!

Now the 4-Dimensional film is hitting Hyderabad shortly. All that we are doing all these days is watching the films silently in theaters and coming out. We also know about 3D films those show Z Axis and give us a different feel. But now the 4 Dimensional films are coming in Prasad's Multiplex within a few months. The film bestows a real time feel in theaters.

If you are watching an Earth Quake scene on screen you will be given the affect as the seat you sit in rocks. When you watch a rain scene you will find a few droplets of rain falling on you. When you are watching a fire scene you will feel the heat for sometime. When you are watching a ferrying boat you feel as if you are on the river, floating. All these experiences can be undergone and you may feel that you are virtually a part of the film.

Is that not a great experience?

I love girls even more now : Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan has done it again. After Madame Tussauds, his wax statue will be housed in France's Musee Grevin.

And the actor is pleased as punch at the news, not to mention honoured. "I am the only living Indian who would be there," SRK says.
SRK spoke to Narendra Singh about his upcoming film, Chak De India, his new hairstyle and more
Have you ever given a thought of working in a mythological film?
I don't know, I have not been offered any such role so it's difficult for me to comment on it.

Your looks have undergone a metamorphosis.
Actually, I am not shooting for any film now so I just grew my hair in my spare time. I will not be shooting for the next two or three months. When I am not working, I generally don't comb my hair and I prefer wearing normal clothes.

Do you like experimenting with your looks?
No, not at all. I would like to shoot every film wearing white T-shirts and blue denim.
How religious are you?
I am very god fearing and pray to Allah everyday. I pray for the health of my children and my family. As far as mythological films are concerned, the filmmakers decide the subjects of such films. It's difficult to make a comment on such films -- if people like them, then it's a good film.

The common notion among people is that your films always do well. Your comments?
God has been very kind to me. People keep saying such things about me but they are not true. I have given flop films too. But yes, it's true that in the past 19 years, God has given me a lot and I am happy that people think so. I will keep working hard so that people think so in future also.

Coming to your forthcoming release Chak De India, is it true that it's based on a real incident?
It's not completely based on a true story -- the end is different. Yes, (Mir Ranjan) Negisaab did suffer a similar fate but (writer) Jaideep Sahni, (director) Shimit Amin and (producer) Aditya Chopra have jointly written this film. Negisaab has given so many inputs for the film. In fact, all the hockey inputs in the film have come from him.

Yet another book on you will be launched next month. Please tell us more.
Till date there have been two books on me, the last one was written by Mushtaq Sheikh. Anupama Chopra has written the book this time after interviewing me for the past three to four years.

I have read certain parts of the book where it talks about the changes in the socio, political, economic, and of course, the film world of this country from the 1990s to now. It's not about me but talks about my perspective and views.

It's an intellectual book and very intricately researched book, and Anupama has devoted a few years of her life on it. But all said and done, I find this pretty strange because I don't consider myself so important.

Tell us more about Chak De India.
I like the thought of a film whose plot is about women. Actually, it's about young girls and I like young girls. I think young women should be encouraged in every field of life. It's difficult being a woman and that's why I try do such films every year.

You play hockey pretty well.
I don't play so well now. I used to a long time ago. I could not play so well for the film.
How was the feeling of being surrounded by 16 girls?
I love girls even more now.

Will you teach hockey to your kids?
When we do a film, it does not mean that the roles we portray on the screen need to be incorporated in our real life too.

But I have already started teaching hockey to my son. My daughter is too young right now. I would like my kids to learn whichever sport they like. I think if you don't play sports then you don't become a sport. You are not happy. If you play sport, then you learn to be nice to others and play like a team in your life. Sports is very important. I love people who play sports.

These days one can see many films based on sports. Do you see a trend?
I don't think it's a trend. If it's there in the movies, it's there. Sports is a good thing to show in films.

How do you react when people tell you that you have crossed all the frontiers of success in terms of awards?
All I can say is that I feel very happy and humbled. I really can't fathom why I got so many though my constant work may account for that. I can only pray and hope that I keep doing my work. I hope I deserve these honours because I don't feel I deserved them.

India's youngest director is 9

At a time when most children are happy just going to school and playing with simple toys, there's a nine-year old who wants to do something different. Kishan Shrikant is to make his debut as a director with C/o Footpath. Produced by his mother, Shailaja Shrikant, it is to be dubbed in a number of languages.

His mother says that there were many who wanted to produce the movie, but she decided to do it herself. "We have spent Rs 55 lakh so far," she says, and the final budget with publicity will go up to Rs 75 lakh.

Patcy N caught up with her son, the little director

"I am from Bangalore. I was born in 1996. My father is an assistant commissioner (commercial tax) and mom is a music director who has also directed movies. My first movie, as an actor, was Gramdevtey and I have acted in 24 so far. The last I acted in was Jogi. If I get good roles, I will continue acting. But once I grow up, I will get into direction fulltime.

I wrote a short story for slum children and showed it to my father, who showed it to some of his friends. They felt I should direct it. That's when I began my preparation. My parents bought books and DVDs on direction, story and screenplay from the Hollywood film institute. My mother explained it all to me. When we used to go on sets for my acting assignments, I watched other directors and asked them about the scenes we were shooting. The best part is they would explain it to me.

I am in class V. When I am free from my acting and directing assignments, I go to school. My friends lend me their books to copy all the notes and my teachers encourage me. I will complete my studies. I will see to it that my acting and directing will not collide with my exams.

C/o Footpath is a story about a slum boy. He passes class VII in nine years and class X in ten years, without going to school. How he does this is the crux of the story. His parents throw him on the footpath after drugging him. He is woken up by other slum children and taken home by a washerwoman.

I like watching Hindi movies. When I saw Satya, I liked Saurabh Shukla's work. He suited the character.

There was a function organised by Prakash Bhandari uncle and I was invited. Jackie Shroff uncle attended it and we met. Jackie uncle asked me for a role in C/o Footpath. I just smiled and forgot about it. After a few days, Prakash Bhandari uncle called and asked me about the character I had given Jackie uncle. I was shocked. I sat with my screenplay and dialogue writer and decided on the character of a chief minister, which was suitable for his personality.

I saw a movie called Haseena in which Thaara had acted. I liked her and gave her the role of a teacher. I narrated the story to her. She liked it and immediately accepted the role.

The idea for the film came to me when I saw slum children selling newspapers on the street one morning. I asked my dad why they were selling newspapers and he told me they had no parents and needed to earn money for themselves. When I heard that, I felt bad and decided to do something for them. I wrote a short story about their lives. It is a story about the world's underprivileged children. Today, the government gives free food and education to children, but slum children still do not study. So I thought of making a film that would drive them towards an education.

The movie is in Kannada. So, when Saurabh uncle and Jackie uncle do their scenes, I explain it in English and give them the feel of the character. For Jackie uncle, I prompt the dialogues. Saurabh uncle writes the whole scene and dialogues in Hindi, then does his scenes.

It is not tough to direct senior actors. I tell them, they listen and even suggest changes if necessary. We do rehearsals before a shoot and I sometimes act and show them, as I am an actor myself.

The movie will be dubbed in many languages. For every state and language, we will re-shoot scenes that specify the area. We will change the number plates on cars and buses, and even change signboards if there are any.

I have written to the Guinness Books of World Records, as I am the youngest director, but it is not a conscious decision to get into the record books. My first goal is direction. All other things are secondary. I want all slum kids educated, that's all.

I once had a dream where slum children dressed in school uniform were selling newspapers before going off to school. I haven't incorporated that dream in my movie though. We have still not decided whether we will donate some part of the profit to underprivileged children, but we may at a later stage.

My second film will be in Hindi. Although I am not fluent in the language, I can understand and speak a little. But I have not decided what topic I want to work on. I like to watch all kinds of movies. In Hindi, my favourite is Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham. Among English films, it is I, Robot and Jurassic Park among many more.

When I am not directing and studying, I sit at my computer and work on graphics. I don't like to play much. I prefer working."

Meet Kishan Shrikant , the 11-year-old film director

Kishan Shrikanth is only 11 years old but the boy has already directed his first film.

C/o Footpath tells the story of a slum boy, who passes class VII in nine years and class X in 10 years, without going to school.

Kishan was only nine when he made the film.

This is not Kishan's only claim to fame. He has acted in about 24 films so far, one of them being the big hit Jogi.

In the picture: Kishan poses after a press conference at the Giffoni Film Festival in Salerno to promote C/o Footpath.

Hyd Box Office: Not So Great and Not So Poor

1. Lakshyam:

The film is making considerable collections although there is a small drop when compared to previous week. The film has multi star factor with Jagapathi Babu and Gopichand and Anushka added to the mass appeal of the film. All this made the film turned the heads of many and stand in position -1 in the Toppers list of the week.

2. Toss:
The film has made very good openings. Upendra factor attracted the masses to come to theaters while the publicity made for the film also boosted up the awareness of the film. But the film shouldn't entertain the audiences and the over dose of emotional quotient in it turned down the flick. But due to openings the film sat in this position in the box office collections of last week.

3. Sivaji:
There is a drop in the collections of the film but still sustaining with considerable collections. It's only Rajni factor and over hyped advertisement about the investment made on the film made it a head turning flick but again kept many disappointed at the end. The film is now in position 3 in the box office collections of the week.

4. Dubai Seenu:
The film is still doing well despite completing many weeks of release. The comedy element in the film with MS Narayana is in big publicity making the audiences come to theaters in big number. The film is in position-4 of the toppers list of the week.

5. Satyabhama:
The film is attracting audiences only because of star cast. The popular 'Missamma' pair Bhoomika and Shivaji are pulling the class crowds to theaters, but in very moderate number. Although there is lack of entertainment the class people are receiving the 'Antero Insomnia' concept shown in the film well. Although it's a remake of '50 First Dates' many are recognizing it as original film as they don't know about that Hollywood flick. The film is making a few collections and standing in last position in the list.

Hyd Gossip : 'Chirutha' Inspired From German Film!

Ram Charan Teja's 'Chirutha' is being made on the lines of a German film as per the sources. Now a few scenes are being re-shot for one reason. The film has come up really well, but Puri Jagannath discovered that a German Film is made on close terms of 'Chirutha' and watched that. He found a few action episodes and screenplay points most impressive. So he wanted to adopt those in this film and hence re-shooting a few scenes again.

So, 'Chirutha' is not a remake or remake of that German film but some scenes are being inspired from that. The title of that German film is not revealed by anyone.

This is the grapevine making rounds in Tollywood circles.

Buzz: M.S.Narayana Burning Fingers Again!

Comedian M.S.Narayana is going to burn his fingers once again. He has already made one vain attempt to field his son Vikram as hero and incurred losses. It took much time for him to make those losses good. As Comedian M.S.Narayana is busy and earning much his role in 'Dubai Srinu', of late, brought him many accolades. If he continues to remain a comedian he can earn money and fame, critics say. He is making the film 'Bhajantreelu', keeping his son in lead role, instead. God only can help him, they opine.

Hyd Real Estate: Boom Started Again-Not with Lands

Real Estate boom started in Hyderabad but not in the form of lands. People are now focusing big on flats than lands. This is more rampant among middle, upper middle class and just rich groups. The reasons are as follows:

1. Lands are prone to kabjas but flats will be safe property
2. Lands are available at reasonable rates only far away from city but flats can be very well within the city
3. Lands appear to be dead investment until they are sold out at bigger price in future, whereas flats give the returns in the form of rents every month.

These are only a few considerations those are making people tempt more for apartments than independent lands. After the success of Lanco Hills a few other developers are also making hay while the sun shines by promoting themselves and locking the people taking advance payments. Apartments are moving fast than that of Gated Communities in outskirts, says an analysis.

US to reverse some denials of work visas

The US will reserve some denials of work visas, a positive move to resolve the messy immigration tangle, The Wall Street Journal said.

The government will accept at least some applications for work-based green cards that were filed by thousands of skilled workers in early July at the government's invitation and then abruptly rejected, according to the report published on Monday.

Tens of thousands of skilled workers, many of them in the US on temporary H1B visas, responded to an official invitation, in a June 12 "visa bulletin" issued by the State Department, to take the final step in July toward attaining permanent US residency.

That sent workers, their families and their employers scrambling to compile paperwork and meet other requirements such as medical exams. Normally, eligible employment-sponsored workers wait years for their numbers to be called, according to the report.

Then, July 2, as applications poured into processing centres, the State Department announced in a bulletin "update" that no employment-based immigrant visas were left for the fiscal year ending Sep 30 because of "sudden backlog reduction" by US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

USCIS announced it would reject applications that it received.

The July 2 decision has provoked outrage among immigration lawyers, foreign workers and their employers.

The report quoted people familiar with the situation as saying that officials are working out the final details of a plan that would at least partially rectify the problem.

But it isn't clear whether the immigration agency will now accept all applications and process them later, accept only those that have arrived, or come up with some other approach, the report added.

Renuka: 'Indian men cannot be trusted in Sex'

Indian men cannot be trusted in their sexual behaviour and are fuelling the country’s HIV epidemic, Women and Child Development Minister Renuka Chowdhury said on Monday.

“You cannot trust men or your husbands, with apologies to the men present here,” she told a meeting of the National Women Forum of Indian Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS.

“If you believe that men will be careful, then you can forget about protecting yourself,” the minister said. “Men will not buy a condom when they come staggering home while drunk”, Chowdhury said, adding that women must not be embarrassed to ask for condoms.

“Women need to get condoms to protect themselves; let the men be suspicious,” she said.

India has 25 lakh people living with HIV/AIDS, the third highest number of people in any country after South Africa and Nigeria. Nearly 40 per cent of those infected are women.

Officials and activists believe that raising the level of awareness will help check the epidemic.

A move to introduce sex education at the behest of the National AIDS Control Organisation, however, has run into hurdles in some places. Several state governments have opposed sex education for schoolchildren, saying it will go against Indian culture.

Chowdhury said the opposition to sex education was morally hypocritical.

“We have a population of one billion and we don’t want to talk about sex,” she said. “We have to be vocal on such issues. If we don’t, then it will effect the generations to come.”

Sujatha Rao, director general of the National AIDS Control Organisation, said a task force would take a second look at the sex-education module. “We want the message to be loud and clear for senior-secondary students to understand,” she said. “There should be no shadow-boxing about HIV/AIDS.”

Buzz: Shriya Named Her 3 Daughters

Before acting with Rajni Kanth in 'Sivaji' itself Shriya appears to have taken a few qualities from him. She adopted three girls in 2005 and nurturing them. She brought them from an orphanage and named them as Amrutha, Chinchu and Athira. She is also working as ambassador for World Vision. She says that it will be good spending at least some percentage of earning for poor girls so that their lives will be made better.

That is indeed right way of spending for society. If each generous person like Shriya focuses on one burning issue, India will become a right place to take inspiration for entire world.

It is known that Sushmitha Sen had already adopted one and nurturing.

Snippet: Priyamani To Replace Sneha!

Observes in Tollywood and Kollywood are saying that Priyamani is grabbing the opportunities those will be in tune with that of Sneha. Sneha has been regarded as heroine for family audiences and only with sari clad look. She hardly looks good in western wear.

Same is the case with Priyamani now. She was shot to fame with the film 'Pellaina Koththalo' and again appeared in 'Toss'. She looks dark and also appears beautiful when smiles like Sneha.

Sneha has become obsolete, say some. She is now considered less and only small banner films are coming her way. So her career is apparently over.

Until and unless Priyamani picks up her acting talent we cannot come to conclusion that she is a right alternative for Sneha.

So, the black day of Tollywood that pulled up the curtain of cold war among the film personalities is being used as business of earning by the TV Channel, say few in Film Nagar.

I am planning to producer 2-3 films per year on our home banner.”

Interview with Buddhadev Das Gupta

Buddhadev Dasgupta is a prominent poet and a contemporary film maker who won several awards in international arena. His list of famous films includes Uttara, Character and Bagh Bahadur. He is in Hyderabad to attend Chitra Yatra film festival. Here are the excerpts -

Why do you make art films?
I don't differentiate between an art and commercial cinema. I am doing films which I am comfortable with. I don't believe in branding cinema into art or commercial.

After Satyajit Ray, you seem to be the one director winning several international awards?
Though it is pleasing to know, I am of the opinion that we should not judge the directors by the number of awards they won. Some great filmmakers never won any awards. Finally it is the creation that matters.

Why Bengali's make most of the art films in India?
Of course, but at the same time Bengal is also producing many numbers of mediocre films which are pure imitations of Bollywood counterparts. So, Bengali film industry also produces same amount of bad films like any other film industry.

What is your current project?
I am doing a film titled 'The Voyeur' with Sameera Reddy playing the main lead. This film deals with voyeurism and the after effects.
Sameera Reddy is more known for her glamour. How did she fit in your film?
This is my second film with her. Sameera Reddy is a sensible actress who can do wonders if she gets a good script. But unfortunately, she is branded as an item girl in Bollywood.
What is your take on Chitra Yatra?
The organizers are doing something great to create awareness about great films among the common movie lovers. It introduces films of different languages to the movie lovers. Indian film industry is in the period of transition and it needs the support of audiences.

Tell us one film which created lasting impression on you in the last five years?
It is Postman. It is the debut film of that director but he handled the film splendidly. It is a naturally made film on love, poetry and upliftment of a person. This film makes you aware of yourself and the life centered around you.

What are your hobbies?
I am a well known poet before entering into films. I recently released the 11th collection of my poems. I love sitting idle and would like to be myself. I prefer taking hibernation in between because, it gives me an opportunity to comeback with renewed energy and passion for my upcoming projects.

What do you think of present film industry?
There are fake realities in our Indian films. The mediocrity should go. We need new talent, new blood and new imaginative people.

I would like to give an example of the film 'Marana Simhasanam' made by Murali Nair. He had to face lot of troubles while making that film. But it became a major success internationally. There is something new in that film that could be understood by international audiences and at the same time content is very much local.

Is it possible to recover money for a film which did not run locally?
Yes. It is possible. Audiences may not be local. But there will be audiences for all good films somewhere. You have to locate them and go there to make money.

Which parts of the world your films are screened mostly?
Its Europe and USA.

Is there any influence of noted filmmakers on you?
No. I retain originality in my films. A good music might inspire you to write good poetry. A good poem might inspire you to come up with a good scene. That kind of influences are natural. But I do not get influenced by any films.

How do you find Hyderabad city?
I am little familiar with Telugu because my father can speak Telugu. I spent most of my schooling in Kharagpur where there are lots of Telugu people around. I love this place when I come to Hyderabad. There is serenity. The people are good. There are very good painters and poets from Hyderabad. It is a culturally vibrant and peaceful city. But it is little bit congested when it comes to traffic though it is lot better compared to Kolkota.

Do you have any suggestion for the aspiring filmmakers?
Moviemaking is a creative work. If you limit your imagination, you end up being mediocre. You will not do something spectacular if you don't cross the barrier of mediocrity.

Oomph Mamtha Mohandas on cloud nine!

Actress Mamtha Mohandas was spotted at the launch of NTR JR’s latest film’s audio release. The dolled up lady added the oomph factor to the evening celebration. But that’s not all. Mamtha we gather, is not just a good actor but also a singer. Recently, at another do, Chiranjeevi was all praises for her talent. Now isn’t that reason enough to be on cloud nine?

Who is visiting professor, Mr Naidu?

Former Chief Minister and Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu seems to have realised that it is not going to be as easy as he thinks to return to power in the 2009 elections.

That is why he is trying to find excuses for the future debacle. It is evident from the way Naidu is shifting the blame on to the party leaders for keeping away from the people and remaining mere "visiting professors." As a matter of fact, Naidu himself has to be blamed for the sorry State of affairs in the party. The TD president is only adopting an ad hoc approach to the issues and doesn't have any concrete plans of action on any specific issue. The leaders are confined to issuing press statements, rather than chalking out agitational programmes on the issues concerning the common man, whether it is rise in prices of essential commodities or irregularities in Indiramma housing scheme.

There is no direction from the NTR Bhavan on any of the programmes and the so-called spokespersons of the party are issuing press statements at their will, without any coordination or cohesion. Rajya Sabha member M V Mysoora Reddy has his own style of attacking the Congress government on the issues concerning his interests, while former minister Kodela Sivaprasada Rao talks about corruption. While Naidu is busy lobbying with the national leaders, there is absolutely no plan or programme to come closer to the people. The TD president is living in a fool's paradise, if he thinks the TD would come to power only with anti-establishment vote!!

Watch Those H1B Hires, FBI Tells American Firms

H1B aspirants in the US could face stringent background checks if you go by the latest advisory by the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) for employers.

The FBI has laid out specific scenarios on its website for employers to check for possible 'spies' in their organisations.

It has listed 'students and educators' as one of the favourite 'cover-ups' used by agents. That's not all. The FBI, in its website, has put up a list of 'collection strategies' that agents use to get their hands on US technology.

Here's a sample:

'You hire a foreign-born engineer who has been educated in this country. Over a 10-15 year period, she rises to mid-level management. Then, she returns to her home country - where she gets paid by that government to set up a business that competes with yours.'

Indian students and teachers in the US have termed it as discriminatory.

'An F1 is a non-immigrant visa. A student applying for an F1 visa at a US consulate is expected to return to his country and not stay back. If he even hints at staying back permanently, the consular officer rejects the visa application summarily.

'So the US government fully expects that these highly skilled, educated, trained people will one day return to their homeland to share that knowledge. Add to that the state of immigration laws in this country that discourage skilled people from migrating here in any case.

'H1B's have now become a lottery, and the average wait time for an MS to get a green card is 6-12 years. So why does the fact of people returning to their home countries, come as a shock to FBI?' asks Kaushik Biswas, a student.

Sample another interesting collection strategy on the FBI website.

A series of university students and professors from overseas take jobs in research labs on campus and get involved in related military projects. Individually, they learn only bits and pieces. But collectively, when they pass that information back to their home country, it paints a telling picture of US defence initiatives.

That's not all. The agency is willing to help by offering a training programme to spot these collectives, or sleeper cells placed in the US.

Called the Counter Intelligence Domain programme, the agency has been meeting university professors, students and staff and has been offering them solutions for dealing with potential terrorist threats on campus.

Last month, agents from the FBI met officials of the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) and other top research universities in New England to discuss the new 'security' initiative.

WPI president Dennis Berkey said the meeting was about taking precautions to protect sensitive research and 'how to be more aware of folks around you, how to take certain precautions with your information in your data.

'Businesses and institutes already know how to protect themselves without FBI help. As for the lady 'who returns to her home country', isn't it a touch paranoid to model Asian-born R&D executives as spies just because their home-country governments have decided to engage in venture-capitalism?' asks Camille, a researcher who is employed in an American firm.

Gossip: Bapu Too Makes A Compromise!

The living legend in Direction, Bapu, too has little freedom in making choices. Though he has been an independent director through out his career, he is now making a compromise. He thought of having a Telugu Gal as heroine in his new film and chose one. She was none other than the girl who made her mark as a child artiste (of 'Tooneega… Tooneega.' fame.). But the producer insisted on Charmy. Though Bapu likes Charmy too, he feels she is not the right choice for the film. But the producer had the final say. Bapu is unable to book other artistes in cast too. He is believed to have expressed his helplessness, when a few artistes approached him for having roles in the film.

An overview of male and female sexual dysfunction!

Some degree of erectile dysfunction (ED) affects around half of all men over 40 years. The common complaint in this group of patients is difficulty with either getting an erection or maintaining it long enough to allow for satisfactory sexual activity, says international sex expert Dr P Ganesan Adaikan.

In his paper at a recent sexual conference in Hyderabad, he said there are a number of causes for ED which includes physical / medical problems affecting the blood supply and neurological function in addition to psychological aspects such as stress, fatigue, anxiety, partner conflicts and unresolved family issues. Sexual dysfunctions could also be due to the side effect of prescription medications such as treatments for high blood pressure or depression.

Both alcohol and cigarette smoking have deleterious effects on sexual performance by complex mechanisms. Obesity and high cholesterol levels affect the blood circulation as well as the hormonal status of testosterone which is needed for libido and sexual arousal. In the process of restoring intimacy, ED and related sexual problems need to be understood and addressed from time to time.

Impotence can lead to secondary infertility, as afflicted individuals tend to avoid marital relationship, become depressed and lack normal desire and frequency of sexual intercourse. Hence, w ith holistic approach of counselling and couple therapy, the success rate in the treatment of ED can reach its full potential.

The other types of male sexual dysfunctions include ejaculatory and orgasmic disorders and impairments of libido / desire. Ejaculatory problems may be clinically classified according to the presence or absence of the sensation of orgasm. Orgasmic ejaculatory disorders include premature ejaculation, retrograde ejaculation, aspermia, retarded, weak or painful ejaculation . Anorgasmic ejaculatory disorders are less common and comprise primary and secondary anejaculation.

Fundamental scientific research in female sexual dysfunction (FSD) is an important area of sexual medicine that has been neglected over the decades at the expense of worldwide research and treatment interest for male sexual dysfunction (MSD). However, during the last 4 - 5 years, it is heartening to note that scientists have shifted part of their attention from MSD and have generated tremendous research interest in understanding the female sexual physiology and treatment options for FSD.

Irrespective of the age, a commonly encountered FSD is the sexual desire disorder, a component of which is sexual aversion. This disorder may be aggravated by subjective lack of lubrication and vasocongestion of the genitalia during the peri- and post-menopausal period. Currently, arousal disorder is the main area of pharmaceutical interest and drug development.

Other manifestations of FSD include orgasmic delays with aging and sexual pain disorder, which could also result from vaginal dryness and atrophic changes in this age group. With the holistic management of male and female complaints, couple satisfaction and sexual intimacy could be satisfactorily revived leading to improvements in quality of life.
