'Chiranjeevi welcome, but no CM post'

The BC, SC and ST leaders, who have been making attempts to emerge as a major political force in the State by forging a United Front and making it a strong political party by the next elections with the sole intention of capturing power on the lines of Bahujan Samaj Party in Uttar Pradesh, were facing a dilemma on the suggestion to invite Megastar Chiranjeevi into the front.

There were differences on his entry, as many leaders felt if Chiranjeevi comes into the Front, he would like to be the sole leader and the Bahujan character will be totally lost and it will be an out and out Chiranjeevi show. However, other leaders felt it would be easier to capture power, if the Megastar is associated with the Front.

BC leader R Krishnaiah made the final announcement on Sunday. He made it clear that Chiranjeevi was welcome to join the Front and play an important role. But, under any circumstances, the Chief Minister's post would only go to the weaker sections, if the Front captures power. In fact, he also welcomed firebrand actress-turned-political leader Vijayashanti into the Front, but the condition remains the same: the CM's post will go only to the weaker sections.

Well, Chiranjeevi also hails from a community, which is being recommended for inclusion into the BCs. And it might happen by 2009. What then would be the problem for him to become CM?
